EVANSTON, IL Supplies for Dreams and Flowers for Dreams are partnering up for the fourth annual Build-a-Backpack Day this upcoming Saturday, August 17 from 1-5 pm at the Norris Center on the Evanston campus of Northwestern University. The two Chicago-based organizations plan to bring community members from Evanston and Chicago together to put together over 4,000 backpacks complete with school materials for Chicago Public Schools students for this upcoming school year.
We believe that equipping students with basic school supplies is the first step to a solution, a representative from Supplies for Dreams posted.
The event will include live entertainment, free food, and various visitors from Supplies for Dreams team members and their CPS partner school teachers/parents over the course of the packing process.
