If the library board had used their money wisely and not wasted SO much of it in an ego driven quest to purchase the property on Center St, The current residents would have the funds to build AND staff a really great library. Instead they bullied a senior citizen, and paid approx half a million to obtain property that wasn't suited for a library... What a bunch of bozos, now the town is without a decent library, and a historic property owned by one of the towns founding families was lost. Shame on the board!
I know the family that owned the property for over 90 years would give anything to have the home back, but its not to be. At least they have the memories of what used to be, and all have left RG for new places to call home. Many lives changed because of a few people who wanted/needed to prove they had the power under eminent domain to take someone's home, I hope it never happens to your family, it's hard to get over the loss. But I must add, the people of RG have the power to take control of the board and make sure it never happens again, make sure your interest is watched over and make sure your tax dollars aren't wasted again!!!!!!!!
