Don Nelson has tried to run this City into the ground since being denied the funds to build a tennis court for his wife to play tennis on awhile back. The council voted against.

I also believe Mayor Don Nelson and his Half Brother Councilman Mark Howell both should be recalled and replaced. Isn't it strange that the 3 signatures required to go ahead with the vote to annex Creola into Saraland was Don Nelson, Mark Howell and John Loden. Why does John Loden have a vote in this? He is not a City of Creola Councilman. He was appointed by Don Nelson. Why was John Loden appointed by Don Nelson. They both served in the arm services together and the Loden's want city sewage. Do you see yet were this is going? There are too many poor people in Creola as well as a lot of people having to live in run down shacks and mobile homes. These 3 have money and think they are better than a lot of old time citizens that have been here for many, many years. If Saraland does take over Creola then all the old Grandfathered In stuff is out the window and people living in shack like homes and mobiles homes that are in need of severe repair will be forced to move. To move where? They have no where! Their families have owned their land for centuries and one after the other has continues to live here. Her is a link. Read it for yourself and look at the 3 signatures on the Creola side that was signed off on. If those 3 love Saraland that much, they ought to pack up and leave for Saraland. There is not that many children that live in Creola. Let them ride the bus to North Mobile County School K through 8 and ride the bus to Citronelle. I remember when children here in Creola rode a bus to Murphy High School. Also if Creola is annexed into Saraland and does not hook up to their sewage system their water bill will be doubled. The minimum amount for Saraland's water is going to be $30.00 just for water, and if you do not hook up it will be double the amount to $60,00 per month, this is just for water. Also when you buy a new Tag for your Vehicle or Vehicles, at the DMV when you purchase your yearly tag the city taxes are doubled. Say if your taxes on your tag for the City of Saraland is $30.00, then it will be $60,00.$30,00 for the City of Saraland and $30.00 for The Saraland City School System. It is going to cost each person per home or manufactured home around $18,000.00 to hook up to the Sewage. Right now our average water bill is $11.00 through LeMoyne Water. As I said, Saraland's minimum will be $30,00. People, wake up and when this comes to a Vote at the polls in Creola, It will be in your best intrest to VOTE NO!!! Thank You!! Scanner1143

This post contains a lot of incorrect information. Obviously someone else trying to twist the truth. How can you hook to sewer if it's not available?? You will only have to hook to sewer if your septic system has a catastrophic failure. People need to actually read the merger agreement. Do you know that 1/3 of Saraland is still using septic systems? Regarding livestock, if you currently have livestock you get to keep them. There are people in Saraland that have livestock. It's called "being grandfathered in". Apparently there are some residents of Creola that think this is just a big lie. Creola will be absorbed back into Mobile County within the next couple of years. What will these residents do then? A merger with Saraland is the best thing that could happen to Creola. VOTE YES!!

Creola Residents: You need to read the contents to the link that Scanner posted. He is right in a lot of things he does say. Once Saraland annexes Creola, if you read the link he or she placed for you to read, it states in it if Saraland decides you can be grandfathered in. If Saraland says you can keep live stock. It will be left up to the Saraland building as to whither you can do this or have that. You have to request it through the Saraland's Building Inspector.
Any and all Mobiles home have to be brought up to Saraland's City Code, and they can be inspected at anytime. Please read the document link below. I believe you will be giving Scanner an apology!!
Copy and paste this into you web browser and read it please?

what is attached in the previous comments is the merger agreement from the 1st original meetings. this is what was agreed upon. not sure why people keep taling about livestock because Creola has THE SAME livestock rules that Saraland does - no PIGS allowed. it goes further to state that anyone having livestock or using their property for agricultual use just needs to notify the building inspector of such and they will approve them to have such property rezoned. the people living in mobile homes have to keep them up to code, that ranks right there with someone living in a house that needs to be repaired because of structural damage. this is a safety concern that should also apply to Creola now. as to the water, if you pay Lemoyne now, you will still be paying Lemoyne if this passes. as to the DMV, i compared my tag receipt for this year to a Saraland resident's tag and the taxes were exactly as the revenue dept said they should be as to state, county, education and city. The same thing we already pay!! the exception was the city tax because Saraland is at 3.5 and Creola is at 5. the value for the other vehicle was around the same as mine and I still paid more for my tag than she did! Do not be mislead by lies and deception from people who are grasping at straws to find the bad in this annexation.

VOTE YES!!!
