It is a sad day that there has to be a law to stop people from protesting any funeral, military or otherwise.

I think that it is just wrong that people feel that they have the motivation to protest military funerals. If they have to make it a law that they can't then so be it.. As long as it doesn't happen anymore.

Shouldn't these people that want to stop the protesting focus more on preventing these soldiers from dying in the first place? How about not sending them off to an unnecessary death in the first place?

u r right, but this aint what it is about. THis is about respect, about GOD meaning something , once that law passes where they can do it, it opens the door. If a funeral-a religious ceremony doesnt mean shit to the law, then it is only a matter of time before religion doesnt mean shit and christians are getting thier doors in at night

these people are disgusting, vile heartless and barely human, in my opinion and the fact that they claim to be christians?
God bless our troops.
I just can't imagine attending the funeral of anyone, soldier or not, and having to deal with these people.

Seriously? What are you worried about. Your whole area is nothing but christians, one group just crazier than the next. The only group I would worry about who's civil rights be violated are the catholics especially since all of you protestants still seem to think the english civil war is going on in your back yard. And the evangelists on the hill. You should all kill yourselves immediately and stop telling your children that jesus won't love them if they wear pants or cut thier hair. Jesus is dead...was dead....whatever.

To prove my point on how ignorant you all are I'm going to falsely claim that I am a muslim and that the prophet muhammed will see your undoing.

i dont give a shit what denomination u are, catholics are christian too dumbass. This is about the sanctity of religion as a whole, if thier law passes, it makees religion not mean anything in the eyes of the law. everyone wont mean anything, muslims, catholics, christians, wiccans, everyone that has a belief system higher than this plane of existence will be sol.

Anyone that would protest to ANY funeral should be horsewhipped. A funeral is a time to mourn...no matter how the person passed away. It is a time for the families to greive. Anyone who would even dare to protest should be ashamed of themselves.

The protesting of a funeral is despicable behavior for anyone. Making a political point by hurting a family who has already suffered a tragic loss of a loved one is a crime against humanity.

This is not an issue of free expression of Religion this is abuse and should be considered harassment.
No one's right to free speech is limitless, once your speech does measurable harm to another individual, your speech is no longer free. This is mental abuse and encroachment on the family's right to be free of unwanted assault by sign waving crazy people.
If it takes the courts to put an end to this then so be it.
Please make it happen quickly.
I am a veteran, I served in operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as operation Valiant Sword. There were any number of times where death was a real possibility although, I never told my wife that, and I can't imagine how she would have gotten through a funeral with this kind of thing happening. She would most likely have had a nervous break down.
These people are causing more pain and suffering for the Service members family, it seems like a good lawyer would be suing them for this and putting their Church into bankruptcy might be one way to stop this very UN-christian behavior

This very subject was talked about in my household last night...My 14 y/o son seen this on Facebook and was talking about it with his mom when I overheard the conversation...AS "voice of Reason" posted I am a veteran of Desert Storm, I was Recalled to active duty, after being out for 8 months, thankfully just before I was to board the plane to go over there my orders were changed and I stayed stateside and my family didn' t have to worry...

BUT as I told my son last night...That shit ain't right @ all...Just remember son, the soldier in the coffin weather he died in the Iraq war or the Revolutionary war or anything in between gave his/her life so those people (right or wrong) can protest whatever they want...Their beliefs my be different then yours and mine on this subject but none the less...Just remind the protesters of the fact that the SOLIDER in the coffin right now is the only reason I am not kicking your @ss,,,as He/She gave their life so you have the freedom to be here doing what your doing...

If a family member or friend's funeral is interupted by these protesters I will voice my disagreement with their position and I will be attending their funerals a few days later as they will all die there on the spot!

I will not tolerate such disrespect and the offenders will pay the ultimate price then and there!
