How many times and how many people have to say that part of the bypass is within the city limits. They are doing what they are suppose to do.

The by-pass is within the city limits of Willow Springs. If there is an accident on the by-pass the city cops are the ones who will work it. They share responsiblity with the Highway Patrol for the safety of the people who drive it. Get over it!!

Go hang out with Gary Stolba some more.

when all crime is solved in WS,I will back off . yes , the by-pass is in the city limits . but, unlike Springfield, tulsa, even Mtn View , this by-pass does NOT run through the business, retail or housing areas . Also , whenever city officials(police chief, mayor)have stated that"patrolling the by-pass bgenerates alot of revenue for the city"-when did it become a police dept. job to worry about revenue ? what happened to protect and serve ? Why not try to boost revenue through industry and business ?

Some people are not happy, they would love for others to unhappy. As well.So they stir the muck and slime on anyone they are mad at, they are so down in it that the only way they are happy is to bring pellets down as far as them.

sounds like he has you brainwashed.and i agree with the above people-a cop-s job is to solve crime and sitting on the bypass writing speeding tickets just don`t get it.

Criminals drive, so yes, stopping vehicles for moving violations is a legitimate tool to solve crimes. Traffic stops help solve many other crimes. You'd be surprised how many people pulled over have 'tips.'

ALL law enforcement is about generating revenue. That's why so many crimes are 'punished' by fines. It's an industry.

Revenue is the main reason marijuana is not legal everywhere, yet. It's too easy to grow your own - tax free. The war on drugs is a joke. Even some former prosecutors and Highway Patrolmen believe that, but they swore to uphold the law.

Whiskey is acceptable but weed is evil? Yeah, right. How ignorant. When you hear how much the 'war on drugs' costs, that is cashflow into the industry that keeps it alive.

I suspect that the Feds will give Colorado and Oregon room to see how their decriminalization of marijuana goes and if, like concealed carry laws, it lowers the crime rate, look for Federal guidelines to be slackened and the world to be a more peaceful place.

Nope mot brain washed and a cops job isnt to just solve crime..its to prevent a crime from happeneing and also to protect people....so pulling a drunk over or a speeder and or for a light out....or what ever they could be saving someone...cause with the amount or shake and bake meth labs that are found for random traffic stop...that very well may save someone from dying or someone from becoming addicted to it. I believe that cop should be allowed to arrest people on the bypass what do you think I'm bringing wash or not I am NOT they argue with family all the time over this they believe should not be allowed on the bypass either I believe that's a s*** because just think of all the good things that come from would you rather some drunk drivers run into you kill you or your family or some crackhead do some kind of message drugs in their car not get pulled over and go to jail but then so the drugs too ur family...a young kid...yeah its bs. But hey maybe just maybe your the crackhead with the shakenbake Lab trying to avoid the police so I hope you get high spend the rest of your life in jail.

While they sit waiting for a speeder there is a certain person of ethnicity selling drugs out on the streets. By the time they respond he is merely a memory. City cops first priority should be the CITY! Maybe the chief should be making a few rounds after hours if his cops are occupied on the bypass.

maybe if you think you can do a better job why don't you go to the Academy contract for yourself has it is these men and women get up get dressed everyday put on a bulletproof vest and pray they don't get shot their families have to worry everyday is there love 1 is going to come home. Maybe you don't think this kind of thing can happen in this area but it's getting closer and closer and closer and only takes 1 time to lose a loved 1. They're trying to help us get this bad stuff off the street now you guys can do screen size if you feel you can do better maybe you should try instead of criticizing for what they do. Because it takes a real man or woman to be able to run to the situation other people are running away from frightened for their lives so show them some respect !

let us not forget that some of us know and have had to deal with the local cops. it's no secret the department isn't getting national awards for their conduct, in fact i spoke with james once and he was anything but professional. his attitude sucked. this is a small farming town community and i would think that learning how to address the taxpayer would've been a standard class for his preparation to becoming a professional police officer. once a cop gets away with talking to people anyway he wants it becomes difficult to retrain that officer if his character is in question. does he present himself like this with everyone? no. thats another reason it's a problem. i can only hope he gets the attention of a wider audience than a small town can give. there are those in law enforcement that take pride in serving our community and have the people skills necessary to effectively do their jobs without issue. but thats why some city employees are held in high regard and with respect and others are trashed on social media. and if a large number talks about some of the same things, i'd think there would be some merit to it. while i stayed out of the local election and chose not to chime my two cents into a heated debate, i did find it offsetting at the number of people that had personal stories about both candidates. maybe we need to broaden our pool to reach out to better qualified employees than settle for what is already here. while we need to support a good police force we also need to hold our city employees responsible for even a less than desirable attitude. or maybe look into who is doing this hiring for city jobs and what if any standards should apply. in a free society you should exercise you right to be critical of any government official. even the ones who think their crap don't stink.

You assume a lot. I can guarantee that I have been in far more dangerous situations than you can imagine. So don't be so quick to judge me. I do avree it is a matter of time before some very bad stuff goes down in Willow. However that is on the police for not taking care of it beforehand.

When a perp walks down the street in plain view of people and conducts drug deals there is a MAJOR PROBLEM! What that tells me is that they are not worried about the police catching them. If the damn police would patrol and arrest those who are committing these crimes I bet the crime rate would go down. Bottom line is the criminals know they have run of Willow and until that changes it's only going to get worse.

Not really..when a thief was in my backyard first thing I did was grab my Glock. Not saying cops aren't needed they just need to do their job. How many burglaries, drive by's, machette wielding idiots and drug deals is it going to take for things to change?

You're simply wrong. It's a cop's job to merely make an arrest based upon information given to a prosecutor(be that by solving a murder, catching a bank-robber, busting a meth-lab, or sitting on a bypass (one word, btw). If there's no currently actionable info on more serious crime, then they might as well write tickets...no matter how annoying it is to us lead-foots. It's ALL crime.

BTW, no matter what dept. makes the arrest (Cabool, WS, Cty. Sheriff, MoHP) makes the arrest, any revenue generated by it would still go to WS, provided the offense occurred within the city limits.
