Yep willow springs is in a very nice area set against the forest preserves. Crime is very low and public service is pretty good. Property taxes can be a bit on the high side but it seems like you do get good services as a resident. The town seems to have a hard time attracting quality businesses. The grade schools are good. Willow Springs School on Archer Avenue is very nice.

The catch for the schools in willow springs is with the high schools. The north half of willow springs goes to Lyons Township HS while the part of town south of the Des Plaines River feeds into Argo HS. LTHS is much more desirable than Argo of course. The Metra train has a stop here although the "station" is little more than an awning next to the tracks. Surrounded by woods on all sides willow sprngs is quiet for the most part and seems more like a small town than a suburb. Hope this helps.

Willow Springs, IL has the most corrupt police department in the state of Illinois. The police dept has hired officers w/ criminal backgrounds. They are infamous for trumping up charges & harassing tax-paying citizens. There have been many instances of the police pulling over & sexually harassing young, attractive females.

Oh, forgot to mention the biker gangs that have taken over that seem to be untouchable by the police. If you want to get stabbed, raped or beaten to a pulp go to the biker bar on Kean Ave. by the horse stables. You could be laying there dead for 2 days before anyone would bother 2 call the cops.

Willow Springs is a nice quiet area. The Police are not corrupt. "Truth" is confused of something that was 30 years ago. Its a nice community, crime is extremely low. The residents are friendly. There aren't many businesses in town, but shopping isn't too far away, Countryside is booming right now.

And its true about what side you live on, according to the Willow Guy. Taxes are a bit high, but that keeps the low income. I'd live there anyday if I could afford it!!
