I'd love to debate this more but I'm getting a little bit drunk and I'm sure I'll sound like a total jackass soon. I like to alter my mind on in a while. I grew up using Macs (think different). But now I'm on a PC. I can't afford a Mac anymore, and I can't afford to smoke weed as much as I'd like too (because it's illegal).
I also can't believe I'm posting on the Sub-Standards website. Oh well. Thank you Big Pharma. Keep selling us snake oil that won't make us any better. Keep selling the shit that'll just keep us alive, so we can keep payin' ya.

Not debating the political, communist aspect of their government but China which has over 1.3 billion people in the 3rd largest land area country has taken a hard line stand against all drugs..
The US is 4th in land area and approx 300 million people. Big difference.
China has the lowest crime rate per capita and area in the world.
They are hard any illegal drugs incl MJ.
Drug dealers, growers, etc go to prison and many are executed.
Their people feel safe and don't use illegal drugs to get through life.
It would be nice if our form of government would do more to get rid of illegal drug people.

The County needs to recognize the impacts on rural lands from poor road maitenance and un-mitigated water drafting by the growers. The ranching and logging community has invested a tremendous amount of money upgrading roads and crossings, yet there is no requirements for the growers to do the same. Grow your dope, but mitigate the impacts.

Wow- dillinger are you really saying we should be more like china? and start kill people for smoking a plant?

I'm saying whatever it would take to stop all the illegal drug business is what should be done. How hard a line I have only said what they do. I would have no problem with a harder one than we have now.
Users of any drug are generally only put in prison and basically forgotten about.
Again they have an exceptionally low crime rate, most crime is corruption (which they often execute for) and non violent crimes and very little drug crimes which they execute dealers and such.

I voted for him. My thinking is not outdated it's just on the other side of the fence and there are many like me. I would suspect we actually (not all super hard line like I am) are in the majority yet.
Keep in mind the older generations, basically over 50, feel much the same way and they are all living a lot longer.
You can call names it only proves that you and yours are a rude, crude, low IQ, many brain damaged druggies of one kind or another generation.
Yes things change and not all change is for the better.

Dillinger...you're a little over the top. Good gosh, Presidents, Congressmen, Senators, Judges, Governors, Doctors, Lawyers, CEO's, Engineers, Accountants the list goes on, have all tried/used pot. It's the false pretense that extremist rant that pot is equivalent to cocaine, heroin, prescription and alcohol abuse. It's not. By intimating to kids that pot is the same as the other drugs only leads them to believe that those other drugs are not as destructive as folks like you lead them to believe. That is dangerous and misleading. Honesty, openness and sound advice have a tremendous effect on kids. I suggest you take a puff, read a book (yes you can read under the influence of pot), clean the garage, etc. and experience it for yourself. I guarantee you will not become a coke-head, a tweeker, hooked on heroin or prescription drugs as a result. However, you may want a bowl of ice cream or a snickers bar.
By the way I am an AARP member, retired.

Skippy wrote another first-hand and irreverent article on the proposed ordinance for the local Humboldt Herald site.
Damn you, Skippy! Keep your fat trap shut:

When you give any form of legitimacy to weed (brace yourself mj "patients") you're giving a foothold to addle minded drug users and the profiteering drug traffickers who run them to expand their playing field in an attempt to add but one more mind altering escape from reality drug to the cornucopia of mind altering reality escaping drugs that exist in society. "Dispenseries" is code for distribution centers. The dumbing down of Humboldt is on fast track to "totally dazed and confused." The only thing missing in this discussion is Domino 21's idiotic points of misperception.
