The Met-Council needs to cut back on Government Employees and it really needs to cut back on them crazy wages they pay them selves!

To pay the each department head over $198,000 is sick and do they really need 6 departments of human rights and over 1000 people in that department.

The Met is soaking the Transit riders, Not the Tax Payers and Republicans that protect them.

“I am always right.”

The Senate cuts funding but allows the Met Council to steal money from other areas to continue their bloated bureaucracy?

The Senate allowed $600,000 to remain for the office that is behind pushing the Chicago to Mpls high speed rail project that is never going to happen?

Some advice to the Senators: Grow a pair!

Either that, or fire every single Republican in the Senate!

If we are going to get screwed, we at least ought to get a free dinner out of it like the Dems have done to the tax payer for years.

Amazing, and who would have guessed that we the tax payers are walking around with the word condom written right across our foreheads which is only visible to politicians, for every time they're screwing us they're using us. Democrats, Republicans doesn't matter, they both skip hand in hand down lollipop lane with our hard earned tax payer money in their pockets. Right up front, action should be taken to terminate the Met Council. There are other state agencies besides the Met Council that would be more than eager and quite capable of wasting our tax money, the same way the Met Council does

The only news I can desipher here is that Kathy Sheran DFL Manlato stole 8 Million Dollars that was paid by the purchaser's of gasoline for the purpose of paying for the roads they drive on.

Seriously though, Why won't a Twin Cities Paper produce an article on the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling, yesturday, that donations to private, religous schools are deductable?

Well, how much do Department heads make? How many people do the various levels of government, ie, City, County, Met Council, Regional, State and Fed employ here in Minnesota for the purpose of monitoring human rights? Can some of the duplication be eliminated? Can private sector agencies competitively bid to human rights related responsibilities or is it a bunch of Brian Herron's in those jobs?

Well folks don’t be mad at the rank and file employees at Metro Transit. They work hard for their money and a drivers life span is like 5 years shorter that the average worker. Hard on kidneys, back, knees. After 30 years the body is shot. Not much better on the shop side of the house.
Really want to see you Tax Dollars being wasted look at the management of Transit alone. Over the years they have formed a “Good Old Boys Club” The management side has grown 100 fold with an average of one supervisor for each four employees, with average salaries approaching over 100K a year. Oh did I mention the management mostly works days Monday through Friday and has every holiday off. Yet there are employees working 24 hours a day. What education do these over paid supervisors have to warrant excessive pay? Most are high school grads with a few that have maybe a two year technical college degree, which is not in management. Maybe they should send Brian Lamb over to the Twins Stadium to pick up trash and hire a real General Manage that can manage money and address the work force with gratitude rather than protect his over managed, over paid supervisor force.
The state and country are in a near depression and Transit is wasting money fighting employee grievances that are obvious harassment by management. They will spend $15,000.00 of taxpayer money fighting a two hour overtime grievance and yet the wash rack at one garage has been need of repair for over six months. They spent over $100,000.00 at the garage by the airport on landscaping and other unimportant projects, and complain they need more money. The same garage they are trying to fire and employee for using an AED during a possible heart attack. Again wasting money because of a personal vendetta against an employee. More tax dollars well spent. They have an average of two AED’s per building they should donate them to schools since they do not want their employees to use them. Let someone hire a forensic account to examine Metro transits extreme waste of spending and overpaying supervisors. The times of unlimited tax dollars and regular increases each year are over. Transit must learn how to operate like a real business, spend money responsibly and hire management that actually has some education in management and money. Never will happen—I know

A nice first choice for a "service cut" would be to stop construction on the Central Corridor.
