Tried it for the first time today. Very good service and food. Reasonably priced. They have repainted the old El McGauey's, took out the risers below the booths so the tables are all on floor level, and they have laid new tile. Give it a try.

This is great, but where is the old El McGaueys? I'm not familiar with that place but would love to try this new one.

Ate there today. It was good, but the chips tasted like they'd been cooked in old oil. That's my only complaint. Service was fantastic, my cup never got empty, entree was yummy, waiter and other staff super friendly, just change oil more often.

Im not on here to bash, but I was not that impressed with my food.
I was really hoping the food would impress me more than it did.
For me it was too bland. Chips were ok, didnt notice the old oil taste that the other poster mentioned.
Did not like the salsa, not sure what was going on with that.
Maybe they could add more seasoning to the food, but not real sure what the salsa needs.
Service was good, but compared to other places with similar dishes, I think the prices were kinda high and food not as good.
I may try it 1 more time and hopefully they will have worked the bugs out.
I like to see new businesses succeed because so many here dont, but its hard to pay so much for something that I can find somewhere else better and cheaper.

A friend and I went there for lunch today at 11 am.We were there until 12 am and not one more person came in to eat. I know why! I eat almost anything and am not picky, but honestly...the food was horrible! The only thing I could eat was the cheese sauce and rice! The salad was wilted and brown and I sent it back! I told them and they said...I'm sorry but did not offer to replace it with a fresh one. I paid for a full meal and only ate a little rice and cheese sauce. I will never go back! This place will have to do better or will not be there long!

Thank you very much and I will take your advice! I had rather pay 99 cents for something that I can eat instead of 10 bucks for something I cannot eat! I do wish you the best though! May I give you a little advice? Your refrid beans were like very thin soup...please leave a few beans in them. The rice and cheese sauce was good. However the hamburger meat needed sauce, salt and pepper or some kind of seasoning! I'm sorry if I offended you,but I am a longtime cook and really would like to help! Please check your produce to make sure it is fresh. Good luck and I know it is hard being a new business and I won't bash you anymore and hope you will just take my advice and if you have any questions about foods,I will answer them if I can.

Oh..one more thing...If someone cannot eat our food and have a legit reason,we reduce the price or offer to bring them something else from our menu. Once again...good luck!

I dont think anyone has gotten on here and been mean or nasty at all and I am glad of that.
No need for people to get on here and hurt a business. Sometimes a business can do that all on their own.
I think the things said here so far have been said kindly and not necessarily complaining.
I ate there and I was not really that impressed at all.
Almost all mexican restaraunts taste different, some good, some not so good, some horrible.
I think the place that was there before them was the worst I had ever eaten in my life and sadly I dont think this place is a whole lot better, but some people dont care about alot of flavor. I do.
I think the service seemed ok, but Im not there for just service.
My meal for 1 person was over $17 with an alcohol drink, I eat at the other places cheaper then that. Need to lower the prices just a tiny bit and add some flavor and get a new salsa recipe and things will improve I am sure.

it also. I found the food to be very bland. No seasoning. The salsa tasted like bland thick tomato sauce. Service was excellent. Prices should be cheaper for quality of the food. Since when do tacos come WITHOUT cheese...never had to ask for cheese at other mexican restaurants. I hope they can get their act together and succeed. I was very disappointed.

Sounds like someone from there trying to get some attention.
Not hearing many compliments in town at all about this place.
And yes, I did try it. Not good.
I will stick with La Isla, but thanks!
