Who is "in charge" of all the county attorney? Like, who is their boss? I am dealing with one that will not get a no contact order for me. I have been harassed, stalked, followed for months. The list is staggering. The CA says it's not enough to file charges yet even with PROOF. The one thing that makes my case different though is the one doing the stalking is an ex-police officer. I feel my case isn't being taken serious because of the "good ol' boy" system so I want to go over their head and get this matter resolved. Any idea?

And just to be clear, it's not happening in Anderson County.

Maybe you could contact one of the judges directly. They are the ones with the power.

You need to be more clear. Is it the Anderson County Attorney or one of the assistants?

Laura Donnel is the boss over the state attorneys office. But if I were you, go down to Jack Conways office off Versailles rd, they will sit down and hear you out.

First, thank you "cindy" for your helpful information. Any idea how to contact Linda Donnel? I did look up some info online and thought Jack Conway might be an option.
And for "Hmmmmmm", I live in Anderson County but work in another town and that is where the harassment is taking place.

LOL my side is hurting, Laura Donnell is not sh*t.....She is the piss poor Commonwealth Attorney for Anderson, Shelby and Spencer Counties. Apparently some of you people can not read, the person said this was not going on in Anderson County. There is certain criteria that has to be met for a protective order and apparently who ever she has contacted does not believe that it has been met. I would suggest she contact the Attorney Generals Office and get an opinion from there, if she feels she has a legitimate gripe.

Laura Donnelly is the Commonwealth Attorney. She prosecutes felony cases in circuit court, where as county attorney prosecute misdemeanors in district court. County Attorneys do not report to her. Try the AGO's Office - Jack Conway.

Have you talked to anyone in the county it is happening in? I think I would try it that way too? see what happens. If no luck then I would call Attorney Generals office. Good Luck and be safe!

Oh yes, all of this has been reported in the county it is occurring. I have spoken with police (who only says go to the County Attorney) as well as the CA. It's funny that the police seem very concerned about the situation and say it's obviously harassment yet the CA won't act on it. Again, I think it's because of the "buddy system" around here. Damn small town politics!!

can I suggest that you keep a daily journal and log everything, dates, times, what happen, where you were etc. don't leave anything out! in other words who what when and where rules apply. Keep any evidence such as text, don't answer their calls let it go to your voice mail that way it is recorded. the obvious things. your stalker will slip up I just hope it's not to late for you! Please be safe! be hyper vigilent, always know your surroundings. Sadly the police won't do anything usually until after it's to late! Try not to go many places by yourself. those sort of things, and regardless of the law I would definitely be packin! I don't think I would go to laura donell, she is about as useless as the justice system. I would definitely go over her head straight to attorney generals office, because she is not gonna do anything for you. beings the police in this county and what ever other county will not help you, you might try contacting the state police and tell them the situation and tell them that the counties will not give you help and you fear for your well being. can't hurt anything is worth a try.

I have been doing all of this. Talked to KSP but they said this is a misdemeanor for the county attorney to handle. I've talked to local police, sheriff's department, even hired a private attorney but she can't do anything unless there are charges made against this person. I am keeping a log. It's a shame that if this was an ex-husband/boyfriend, it would be a cut and dry case with an immediate EPO. I think all citizens should be protected when being harassed like this. And I go very little places alone anymore. I keep my cell phone handy at all times. I take back roads and change my route daily so there is no routine. It's sad to have to live like this.

I thought "Amanda's law" was in place for a reason? Or does it not apply to this?

OK then what i would do is call one of the Lexington newspapers and tell them my story. maybe that will get some attention to the situation and the so called law will do something about it then, if not then buy yourself some protection be packin also, buy you a can of wasp spray, it will spray up to 20 feet away and is better than a container of mace. Something is just not right that this person is getting away with this. Good thing it is not me he is stalking because I would take care of it in one felt swoop!

No, not in Woodford. My quality of life is not what it has been. I am freaked out with this psycho and never knowing where she is going to pop up. How can a county attorney just choose to ignore it?
