Vic , I would guess it is hard as heck to work in pharmacies especially now a days. I can remember when it seemed easier to just go in a drug store , fill it , & walk out. I was little but my Grandmother use to take her original medicine bottle and she would hand it over to the person & they wld use same bottle ! She had a charge acct & made it very convenient for her. Of course she always paid her bill. They were nice folks. Oh , there is a site called " The angry Pharmacist" & its pretty good reading tho he talks about the customers bad , its still funny !

I remember and worked during the good old days. Pharmacist's had manual typewritter, rolladex, spin that thing around got the price. Life was good then the microfishe YUCK that's what caused my vision to be soo bad. THen one day that darn computer arrived and I knew those easy days were forever gone. With the pharmacy aways couple of steps higher than rest of store and with a large crowd gathered waiting on their meds, it felt like being on stage. It's been quite a few years since I left to raise kids but my daughter in law currently works at a hospital pharmacy. What those certified techs do makes my simple mind spin.

its my pleasure too. You mentioned the rolodex '& I'd forgotten about those. I do remember handing a prescription & the Rph would start turning to get the correct numbers ,info , etc . Yes, my grandmother sometimes went in the old "Rexall" phar on main st.) it was nice. & the women that worked at the restaurant inside made really good burgers , soup , pretty much anything ha !and I do remember the pharmacist standing behind a half wall I guess and it was elevated.'. I use to think they were performing surgeries on ppl ! But I was little .lol. It was fun at Christmas time to go in & smell the foods & ppl were cheery or it seemed that way to me.,

I have many fond memories of that drugstore. My aunt worked there for many years behind the soda fountain. Talk about customer service, she had her's spoiled. When her regulars came in for breakfast-lunch, their plates were ready all she had to do was pour their coffee. I use to go in and just watch her amazed at how much she could get done and made it look so effortless. People would come in to get their scripts, sit down have a cup of coffee and piece of homemade pie. I know life was hard then but people didn't seem to be so stressed.

I agree that wasn't cvs fault, but I do hate our cvs. They take forever! When you go up front to check out there is never anyone standing there, so you have to cough or jingle your keys to let them know you're ready to check out. All the employees that work up front are very unfriendly. And don't get me started on vance. I have called and reported how rude he is, obviously didn't do any good. If you don't want to work with the public, then go work at a factory!
U Are sure right about that . It probaly stressful but what ain't ? Like u say if u don't like the people work in factory or sweepin streets.

I actually think Kroger pharmacy is worse than CVS! They are all rude and they take forever! You take in a script and if you are lucky they say 20 minutes. You wait 20-25 minutes, go back it's not ready! How much longer? 20 more minutes! That happened time one time, three times! I ended up waiting over an hour! This same thing has happened several times! I quit going there!

I don't think I could handle all the people calling and Drs calling and everones in a hurry. I wonder if phaarmacist have a high percent of prescribing medicines to theirselfs ? Its bound to happen maybe not in this town bit were all only human. I think I seen something on the tv about this in massachusetts ? or maybe florida. That state has made it hard for people wth real sickness.
