Comp Care sold to UK

Comprehensive Care, now bluegrass.org , is being purchased by UK Healthcare for $32.5 million. The buyout will be made public in early May 2013. Nearly 300 of the 2,100 employees of bluegrass.org will be laid off.
This was decided in an emergency board meeting on Thursday April 11, 2013.
All 15 of Kentucky's community mental health centers have struggled financially since managed care took over state Medicaid in 2011. Rising KERS costs have given mental health another financial blow.
The buyout is projected to serve nearly 20,000 mental health patients in 17 counties in the Bluegrass Region of central KY.
