Most small towns have people who are the power behind the scenes. The general public does not care and in most cases does not know. But they should be concerned because these are the people who influence the decisions and usually the decisions affect the people.

as a former mercer countian.i personlly am so ashamed and dis mayed at the total transformation of harrodsburg,it is no longer respected as something special.tear down ,sell of destroy . is that the only mindset of those in power. when will new buildings, finally be enough to satify the powers to be. why do those in charge want to destroy what makes harrodsburg so special? just hope they can park the bull dozers for awhile, and walk the streets, revive memories of all the old buidings,cracked sidewalks etc, that we knew in years past.after all wasnt it good enough for those who knew it in days past,once its gone there is no returning to its glory.whats next tear down the fort for a gold course

Above all else, you should be ashamed of the sub-par educational system. It would seem that it had the biggest effect on you.

This really gets my goat. Whoever wrote this must have a very low opinion of himself or herself. Surely they are being facetious. The very idea of calling the Dedmans our royal family is absurd. I feel sorry for the person who thinks the Dedmans are our royalty. King Dixon and his high-falutin' wife--you call them royalty. Royalty is gracious to those less fortunate. I resent this person for leaving such an insane post. They don't know their a__ from a hole in the ground. They are whistling in the wind.

The Demerees... not for the best reasons... when Jim and Lori Miller got married they were high school sweethearts then they had kids. jim was on the board of education and both their kids were extremely good athletes... then it seems when they got divorced everything went to hell. interesting family.
