Does anyone know anything about this place? It's the large house on Lexington Street next to Green Acres. What does it look like on the inside and why has it been sitting empty for so long? I've heard from a few out of towners that were interested in fixing it up.

Sotheby's has it listed. It's a spectacular home. Pity it has had so very little done to it in the last few years. Roofwork would have been easy several years ago. Just a shame.

However, it is certainly fixable.

Yeah. It's spectacular. It needs a ton of work but is certainly worth the effort. I would imagine before the subdivision was built it was truly magnificent.

Woodwork is quite nice!

Yes. I'm very good friends with the owner and my wife and I have enjoyed many good meals at his dinner table. In fact, he's featured in today's Danville paper. http://www.centralkynews.com/amnews/news/amn-...

This has always been my dream house. But once you pay a crap ton of money to buy it, then all the money it would take to fix it up, you'd be bankrupt.

You might be bankrupt but rest assured there are many who would not.

Noticed the signs were down today. Maybe switching from Sotheby's? Anyone know about inside pictures other than those on the listing?

If it would bankrupt you then you couldn't afford to pay the monthly heating cost. So dream on!

If paying for the house and restoring it would bankrupt you, you might as well forget it. Because you couldn't afford the monthly heating bill. So dream on!

The woodwork and huge French crystal chandeliers are absolutely beautiful. The large stained-glass window is really something to see.

The taxes hadn't been paid for a long time. Eventually it will be foreclosure. Just wait & you can buy for a bargain.
