Rich people who have maids can get lice or bedbugs just as well as someone on welfare or whatever you are insinuating! All you have to do is stay at a hotel or go to a movie, anything open to the public. You can get it just as well as anyone else my dear. Clean home or not. It's like saying omg I can't believe that fly os in this restaurant, they must have a D rating. Shit happens, get over it.

No school system is without lice and bed bugs. Kids put on other kids hats and coats. They sit close together. It happens everywhere. Mercer County is no worse that any other school.

I don't think "Yuk" said anything about people being rich or dirty. They said to stop being lazy and take care of your home and yourself. I took that as to "treat" their homes and themselves for live and this wouldn't be such a problem. My kids go to Burgin and one particular family continues to bring it in to the school.

Well to be having presentation on them, I believe they must be a big problem!! Bathe kids reg, keeping your home clean, yes that would help and possibly stop the infestation since obviously it was brought in by some nasty house or the poor child that parents dont see to there higene then bring things like this into schools just like someone getting scabies, prob bc they don't wash their ass and live like filth I imagine

you don't have to be dirty and nasty to have bed bugs or head lice. i have seen it from the nicest, cleanest homes. a poor child can just as easy come into contact with a rich child that spreads it to them. so don't make this look like a poor person's fault.

Like I wrote before. All schools have head lice and bed bugs. You don't have to be poor to get them. I know of a family whose father caught bed bugs while in an upscale hotel on a business trip. They came home with him and before he knew it, they were in his house and on his kids. The kids took them to school.

Lice are easy to get. Kids put on each other's caps all the time. Tell your kid not to do it.

Home on the range....You seem to be the only one with any sense whatsoever on this post!!!! If you dumb***** really want to know where all these pesky bugs are coming from.....ask your f****** government; who continues to allow all these foreign a**holes into our country.....It has been proven years ago, that bed bugs originated from foreigners coming from specific countries....through luggage, clothing, and have stayed here by infesting our hotels with the damn critters!!!!!

What you say is true, but the poor don't have the resources to eradicate them. That's why you see the same people dealing with them over and over.

I totally agree with "Yuk." My step child attends Mercer County Schools and she has lice EVERY single time we get her for visitation. Her mother is lazy and she acts like she doesn't know her kid has it so that she can use her money for her dope and we can pay for her lice treatment! They need to do some serious threatening to these disgusting, lazy parents! Treat your damn kids!!!!!

I disagree that it just falls on "lazy" parents. That may be the case for some but what good does it do to treat repeatedly and them go back into the same environment with the same infestation. They just keep getting it over and over. Until the school also does something about it it's hard on the parents to completely take care of the issue. The school system says they aren't even allowed to send notes home anymore to tell parents and aren't allowed to check heads. Shouldnt they play their part as well to help resolve the issue seeing as its usually where it starts being around many other children. Also having live does not make a person dirty. Anyone can get it and they actually cling to clean hair!! Read up on it before you speak!!

I didn't say only dirty people could get it. That is ridiculous, for the one's who think that. ANYONE who has hair can get lice. And I agree with you (well) 100% that the schools need to so something. If it were my child and not my step child, I wouldn't send them back to school and I would contact DCBS and let them know that because there are so many children with lice, my child will not be going back there. It's almost the same as what happens during flue season, parents keep their sick children at home and if there are enough absences, they call school off for the day or week. This is getting out of hand. Lice treatment is outrageous and when you have to bye 2 packages because the child has a lot of hair, it will break you. I do have to say though, that this child's mom has never ever treated her hair. We have always done it and the child doesn't even live here.

any body can get bed bugs and lice. I don had them myself a few times. Once I borrowed my brother in laws coat and cought them from that. That time the lice were not the kind that goes on the head. You just have to get rid of them. You can warsh your cloths. You have to take a bath.

sometime kids bring them from school. They sits so close together and them that is in pree school and kindergarden and first grade lay round on the floor all the time. It is a wonder that all of us don't have lice and bed bugs because so many of us have them.

Coaches are careful. They make sure that their players takes a bath almost every day and they give them lockers so that their cloths don't get mixed up so they put on other peoples stuff.

We went through the same thing a couple of years ago at my child's school. I called the principal and social services. The principal did check heads and send kids home several times, but ss said having lice is a lifestyle choice. WHAT?! Believe me, it was expensive and daunting trying to keep on top of it, but all you can do is wash with the med, keep combing (everyday), teach your kids not to share hats/coats/coats, pray, and as far as the bed bugs, they are sweeping the nation, and that's the truth. They are even saying not to take in used furniture because I reckon those things are so hard to get rid of that u gotta strip your whole house, throw out carpet, mattresses, couches, etc, and I know one family (clean ppl) who had to heat treat their house after doing even that. It's true, though, until the lazy people treat and rid of it, the rest of us are just doing it for nothing, and anyone can get lice or bedbugs, it's nasty when you don't do anything about it and act like it's not there. Good luck and I hope the BB don't come here! I like to have never survived the lice!

Only if people would take the time to research on lice and bed bugs instead of over reacting.Things happen whether your rich or poor believe it when said the poor is not the only ones that get bed bugs and lice in their homes. If your gonna complain about spending money (LICE)try using mayo in the hair then covering with a plastic bag-it smothers the lice and kills the eggs.(BED BUGS)Try rubbing alcohol 70% or higher in a spray bottle and spray down places bed bugs would be or hide. The rubbing alcohol burns them on contact .......advice smokers can't do this unless your serious about keeping them away smoke outside your home!!!!Some may think or these these don't work but they do had to help a friend with lice several times with her kids for lice. And the bed bug deal when living in a apt you have to be on your toes especially when you have people living beside you and matience men coming and going from apt to apt.Hope this helps those save money on both issues
