This message if for TOEM. You really have all your information incorrect and I don't know who you are, whether you are in the City or not. What I do know is that you DON'T know the FACTS. You are making comments based on rumors. Don't need a police car? How do you know that? Have you driven it. Have you been to council meetings to know the problems the car has had, that twice the police officer got in it to start his shift and it wouldn't start and for the past year it has continued to need constant work? Costing more and more money and every one who has worked on it has said it is shot? Did you know the City is NOT in the red, but the payments for that Civic Center is what has hurt the City financially? Did you know that the previous police officer REFUSED to enforce nuisance, parking, and several other ordinances and spent 90% of his shift parked by the Broadus building chit chatting while being paid by YOUR TAX MONEY. No you don't know THE FACTS but go ahead and speak like you do. And if you really have the balls big man why don't you take that open seat on the council and FIX THE PROBLEMS!!!!!

I felt inclined to respond to this comment. The city has raised taxes by 4% over the last 15 years. As the cost of living goes up for individuals, it also increases for cities,(insurance, regulatory inspections, etc.) if the city did not increase taxes by the compensating rate of 4% cities would not be able to even pay their bills much less make improvements for the communities. Any time a politician on any level indicates they will not raise taxes, they are either lying or ignorant to this fact. It would be a great advantage to the american people and local citizens if they would get more involved an educate themselves on government issues in order to make better judgements in regards to voting and making comments that indicate they do not understand government finances.
Happytails, Rasing taxes 4% over 15 years compared with 4% all at once is a very big difference. It shows lack of leadership in the current council and mayor to attract new business and revenues to the town. When you do not want things in your town that people will come back to enjoy over and over this is the avenue they take. If people will not come to a town other new busineses will not come either. The easy way out and that is to pass it on to the people.

Good try to guild over the fact that the town raised taxes 4% all at once this time. I bet over the last 50 years they have increased even more. WINK WINK.

We all know what inflation is and the cost of living and operating a city will continue to rise. That is why the incompetence and statements made by some of these council members is not hilarious, but very concerning to the people of Bloomfield. I mean who does not understand that health care goes up almost every year!!!

And you are wrong you do not have to always raise taxes to stay ahead. That is just the myth you have been spoonfeed. You have to break away from the past and start living in the now. You got to get extreme, think out of the current Bloomfield box to get paid.

Happytails you are so far off base it is silly. Yes, I have seen the car, Yes I have been to more meetings than probably anyone on the current council except Denny. Go figure that one out. Cars can be rebuilt and overhauled for way less money than $45,000. That is fact jack who ever said otherwise is scamming you for more money. Why should we enforce laws that punish people for living their way. An eyesore to you may not be an eyesore to me. Just another way to squeeze money out of people and people who sometimes can not afford it. Who cares about parking it's not like Bloomfield is being flooded with commercial shoppes at a rate to where people can not find places to park. Another plot to get more money. Those new signs were a waste. No one pays attention and in the end you have to abid by state law for most of our roads. That said what other ordinances did Cotton not enforce? I can not help that Bloomfield is not the crime ridden city you and obviously the council want the people to believe it is That is why the police officer spent time where he did. I have seen Anderson harass and pull more people over in the last few months and then have to move on thatn any other. He reminds me of Mike Keeling when he first popped on the scence. He eventually changed his tune too. So an easy fix is to eliminate the police officer from Bloomfield. I mean we have county cops that live in very close proximity to Bloomfield that can take care of it just fine and then the town retains that money Chi ching! Baby!!

My facts are correct and your just mad cause I am calling you out on them. Your also mad at the fact that I am exercising my balls on this site and it drives you NuttZ!!!!Just like it did Walt.

Why don't you try and have th IPO traced and then find out who I am if topix will let you. They usially do not since I am not threatening anyone. I am perfectly legal.

Cheers!!! Stay tuned..........

I know for a fact thee old officer enforced parking and city codes. I live in the city and was given several letters. I i was also given a parking ticket. I checked and found the mayor was not going to enforce it. It was up to the city not the officer. I have also been on the grand jury and officer Cotton was was there several. Most of them were drug charges. Now you get the facts straight.

TOEM if you would look at the past tax records you would see that taxes were raised at least 4% every year for 15 years not spread out over 15 years your idiot. And the main reason there is so many increases in water and sewer rates is because there hadn't been any increases in over 12 years and Bloomfield's rates were significantly lower than most cities. When the water co. was forced to upgrade it's outdated system it didn't have the money to fund it. This is not a problem recently created but due to lack of previous planning. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. As far as citations go the reason nothing was ever done was because the previous officer didn't enforce it. The police officer is LAW ENFORCEMENT not the mayor. Have you ever had a mayor write you a ticket or see the mayor involved in arresting someone? Duh! Get that citation now and see if you don't go to court!!! THE FACT IS the city doesnt get the money for the citations, the state does. If you never had to worry about your citations before it was because your previous officer was not doing his job. But I guess that's why you hated to see the previous officer go, he was taking care Of you wasnt he?!!! Well again I CHALLENGE YOU, big man take that open seat on the council. Then maybe you can GET THE FACTS and won't have to pretend you know the facts. Done with you, you aren't worth any more of my time. I don't like to waste my time on ignorant people with hot air.

Happytails, My taxes did not increase 4% every year for the past 15 years. Your babbling is garbage on this one. The city creates ordinances for the officer to enforce, hince the problem is the council and mayor drumming up these silly self servicing ordinances. I am glad the officer chose not to enforce these ridiculous burdens and if the city does not get a cut then that is a double stupid move to create these ordinances. Of course they get a cut. As far as sewer and water go the problem is Bloomfield invested in Bardstown future not our own. Grants and loans could have been secured at that time. Now we support the advancment of BArdstown instead of our own. There are some many holes in what you are saying it is hilarious!! Anyone can read what you say in the paper and can pull up meeting minutes on the computer or request them through open records laws. Just becuase i am calling them out, you believe you can lie and pursuade people on here I am wrong, but your wrong and once again I have set you straight. Come back when you can put up a real debate with facts instead of staements made on emotion. And of course you are done you have been put in your place and made to look stupid. See Ya wouldn't want to be ya!!!

Seen where new Police Chief (failed attempt at Sheriff)Kenny Downs is going to ask local business to donate money for police car and in return their name will be on the car. it will be used in parades and such. Gee, what an outstanding tactic. After raising their taxes by 4% lets ask'em for a hand out so their name can be on the police car. He mus think the business owners in this town are 12. But Bruckheimer will probably buy the town a car. We can put CIS, NCIS, and finally BCIS on the side. Yeah Buddy!!!!

No they figure it is better for them to keep their mouth shut and just keep on violating the people of Bloomfield's rights. I saw that pathetic excuse for a Mayor on the front page of the KY Standard this morning. I have not even given it the time of day to read yet because I always read the funnies last!!!

I want to make a prediction. The next thing the city will do is request property re-evaluations on all homes to try and increase their worth and thus actually increase tax revenue while not really increasing the tax rate anymore. Put the blame on inflation and tell the people we have ben ripping the town off for too long LOL!!. They like to do what bigger cities do like in some New Jersy towns and Philly. The increase in communications is dangerous for the meek minded they think they are actually running a huge economically driven city instead of the lazy little farming town they reside in.

So people make sure in the immortal words of CCR...When the tax man come to the door make it look like a rumage sale!!!!!

Just so you know, TOEM your predition will not happen. The City has nothing to do with property value regarding taxes. Cities do not have the authority to tell the government what they think the properties are worth. If that were the case, every city would have high property value reports so they could collect high taxes and that is WHY they don't have the authority. Have you seen the delinquent tax list? Your FORMER Mayor is on the list. Just saying.......

Happytail; I think you need a job at city hall. You and the city cleark can share the job as long as you can read a book all day. There is a time you will have to go to clearks meeting but it last (2) hours and then you can shop the rest of the day on the city of BLoomfields time. THE main thing is to kiss mayor howards a**. I would rather have the former mayor that knew what he was doing without having to let someone tell him every move to make. RHOND HAGAN can not make a move without Jean jury or mayor Howard.

Happytails, you must be a moron so you would serve good on the current council. The city can and the county can have properties re evaluated, so that the cost of the house matches the current market. Go ask those folks up in Philly and in most New Jersey towns.

They can also exaggerate the price so they can get more tax revenue out of it. You silly person you believe everything the government spoon feeds you about the law and what they can and can't do, but when they do it it you look like the deer in headlights. it will then be up to you or the people to spend money in court to get the actions thrown out.
