This story makes it out that he didn't feel that he did anything wrong. If you read the story you can catch him lying. He said when he wrote the letter asking whether it was a conflict to the board he says he got no answer. Then later in the story it says that Gary told him it was ok. An officer resigned when the truck was being built because he felt it was being done the wrong way, so there was a conflict in the fire department about the truck. It looks like they would stop and say, hey we have a problem an officer is resigning because of this situation. Benton knew he was doing wrong. One meeting we voted to buy the materials to start building the truck and after the meeting Benton told the officers that he had all ready started building it. That Rodney just needed his money.

So everyone can see that Dale and Chad are back to writing letters again. It sure is funny that both of them are very good at going behind everyones back but can't tell someone face to face instood of writing all of these letters.Dale why don't you tell the world how you was dismissed from the department before.Maybe you'll could even write about how the president of the department was fired from his job to.I think that the community is really hurt by Gary's decision on this.Gary is totally against the volunteers of the county.Laurel Fork fire department was really hurt by this decision. The bottom line is that Benton didn't jump when the county said jump so they moved him out.

I believe I stated my feelings on the truck through my resignation letter in February. That wasn't behind anyones back. It was read in front of the board.

Maybe this was a different letter than what was read to the membership.Maybe you should post your letter and let everyone read it.Yes Chad everyone knows how lazy you are.Maybe you should even write what you have done for the department since you have been a member.I think we could probably sum that up in one word NOTHING!!!!Okay us talk about what Benton has done for the department. Why don't we even go in and tell how he built the department a tanker.Yes the department bought a chassis but it was Benton that spent all his summer at no charge to the department changing all this over.I must say that this was a very nice looking truck to.When you have done as much for the department has he has then you can sit back and talk about someone else but until keep your mouth closed.

I've only wrote one letter and that was my resignation letter....and no it was not read completely to the membership. I asked for it to be read like it was written to the membership and it was not. You can ask the president to see it if you like.

Well you are one of them that should be blamed for this. You done nothing but tore the department apart. As far as the president he is one that needs to go home. There has been nothing out of him but trouble since he has been there are anything that he has ever been involved in.

Well I have read all the infomation in the satements, and to be honest with the community it was a loss to lose Chad as an officer and a great advantage getting rid of Benton and his wife the department has been suffering for long enough and now has a chance to become what it use to be with the rite leadership, as for the things the X chief did for the department he did make some good gear racks but for both of the trucks that have been made by him are really junk!

Good article Dale yes it was a great lose to lose Chad as a officer. We all know that Chad does nothing in the fire department but lay around. As a citizen why haven't we put the new truck into service that the tax payers paid for? It looks like you and Doug have manage to run everybody off from the fire department. All I can say is you'll have really done a good job at tearing the department apart.Maybe you'll can get the wonderful chief from hillsville down there to help you'll out since he has had his little fit and the county didn't give him his way.
