My neighborhood is in the middle of many burglaries

On July 2 at 4am my neighbor woke up and saw an african-american man on his knees trying to get into their bedroom. They woke up and called the police but the guy (s) left before they came. They don't own anything so I wonder why? Today july 7 their next door neighbor got rob early this morning. This is not just a 2 case incident, theres been more. Some been robed while they live their houses to go to work or to drop off their kids at school. We all live close to Lindley Park in Willis.
We need more lights at Lindley park, there is only one light on one side but on one of the corners there's no light, big bushes and a big tree that is a perfect hide out to anyone. Yes our neighborhood is a mix of brick houses and trailer parks and maybe is not a "rich" neighborhood but we still are people that want to feel secure. I wish that cops could come more often to check this park. Most of the time the only light it has is turned off and "people" sits on the benches just looking around and, I assume, picking their next victim. I pray every day and night... pass this news to everyone you know, next time it could be someone you know. I wish we all could get united and ask for more street lights and less decorations on the sidewalks!

Move out of Willis

I don't think it would be the answer to move out of Willis and leave you home. But you all need to get in touch with your neighbors and keep a watch out. We do that in surrounding area but we still feel worried that it could happen. I think we all have guns around here. I will be getting cams installed this week. Not everyone can handle a gun but I sure wish they could and many do not want them around their children and I can understand that. But I was raised around guns in my family home and we all knew that they were for Daddy to protect us and we didn't touch them. My kids are grown now but they always knew that I had a gun and I kept it locked up but they never attempted to mess with the place I had it. If I would see a man on his knees trying to come into my home, I would have shot him. He would have been one less piece of crap to deal with in this world.
