The reason I made this petition is because it just feels unfair to me. A woman spends so much time planning and preparing to have a baby only to be told that she can't because she's prone to complications that are fixable and when she tries to fix it her insurance won't even help cut the price in half or anything. But when the pregnancy becomes life-threatening they'll cover the surgery to terminate it just fine, because it's about $3k or so cheaper... if it's the difference they're worried about then only cover what you would for the termination later and let the planning mom figure out $3k... That seems perfectly reasonable to me. But to just deny it because you somehow equate safety in planned parenthood to a boob job? Dick move.
So maybe my homeowners insurance should fix my steps because I might trip on them?
People have to stop being dependant upon others and do for themselves. We are fast becoming a nation of free-loaders and shirkers. If you want something work for it. Stop looking for somebody else to pay for your wants. There is a difference between wants and needs.
Take responsibility for your life and actions. Maybe sis should be on birth control until she can afford. To pay for the procedure. If they can't pay for better insurance that would cover it, I don't see how it would be a smart thing to have another kid.

I have to agree with those who oppose this idea. While procedures like IVF are expensive and the desire to have children is emotionally great for many women, the fact remains that this is an ELECTIVE procedure. I can see no way to justify increase health insurance costs for everyone because of the wants, NOT NEEDS, of a few.

I won't even go into the whole scenario of someone not working, being "disabled" and yet expecting others to foot the bill for an expensive and completely elective procedure.

Relying on an insurance company to cover anything outside of a doctors visit is a joke these days. I pay $5300.00 a year + a $1500.00 deductible for a family of 4.....Now if you ever look at the bills that the insurance company gets from the Doctor/Hospital, you will see what was charged then you will see the negotiated price.........Why the hell can't I get the negotiated price and pay it out of my pocket?????????? Wait until you get hospitalized and the insurance company denies the claim by saying the procedure was not medically necessary..........bottom line insurance is Americas biggest scam.........I'll take the $2000.00 fine, its cheaper!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder what will happen with the "entitlement generation." They expect a lot but give so little.
People used to look after their own. Parents and siblings, cousins etc. Now this generation thinks the world owes them everything they want.
