15-Year-Old Killed In Crash

Gomez Pacheco, 15, of Willimantic, was driving a 1996 Nissan Altima east on Route 44 in Ashford when he lost control of the car shortly before 9:30 p.m., police said.

It's too soon to speculate why a 15 year old was behind a wheel of a vehicle at 9:30pm. Alone. Could it have been an emergency situation? Anything other than that is just plain negligence on behalf of the vehicle owner, the parents, etc. Stricter laws on teen driving are not going to prevent situations like this where a child was driving under the current legal age. How many more 15 year olds are out there driving? How many parents of these children know that they are?

all you have to know is that he was 15 and still only in the 8th grade ... his sister was quoted on channel 3 last night saying he was one of 22 children and that they all knew he drove on a regular basis ... she said that "we just thought that he was late getting home from school" ... so its freakin' 9:30 at night and no one has seen him since 7 am and nobody is concerned ????? this must be one messed up family ... hopefully DCF will save some of the other kids in this household before someone else is claimed by the natural selection process

Trust me, if they really have 22 children - DCF and the entire entitlement program are fully aware of them!

Why do people feel the need to "breed". NO ONE can properly take care of 22 children and there is NO EXCUSE to having so many children......

Also, there is NO emergency that can't be solved with a 911 call. At least THIS MUCH I know as this kid died four miles from my house and I KNOW our 911 is quick......

I hope they investigate why he was unaccounted for and WHY they knew - and permitted - his illegal driving.

No excuses for him driving before he had his license.... but a "15 year old 8th grader" could have stayed back one time..not to rare. A freshman with a birthday in the early part of the year, is turning 15 now.

Those low income apartments in Willington and parts of Ashford have quickly become the location of choice for those from Willimantic, hiding from the law.

Unfortuantely, while passing through the more respectful areas between Willington and Willi-World, they leave their ghetto bass on and disturb otherwise peaceful communities.

Wonder what connection Flores has to the victim and what she does for a living? ANyone that knowingly gives a child access to a car and the child dies as a result is guilty of nothing less than risk of injury and endangerment. Possibly, in a sesnable world, involuntary manslaughter as well.

I'm sure Rell can make a space for her in Niantic. 5- 10 years, wouldn't you say?
