Crook! He declared bankruptcy 2/2/10 and has left a host of unfinished projects, lengthy punch lists and unpaid subcontractors and suppliers in his wake. He should be put in jail.

Doesn't pay his subs, stole deposits from homeowners and plunged them into his new place on the bay in Ocean City. Now he's under Chapter 11 protection so no one will get anything. When he surfaces doing business under a new name, stay away. Lou Marzilli is a crook.

Yes, Marzilli did file bankruptcy. They ran into a tough market and are doing the responsible thing by reorganizing through the Courts. They continue to provide the excellent product and service that they always have. None of these postings are accurate and are down right libelous. No homeowners have lost money. Marzilli stands behind all of their work. They renovated my 96 year old house and did a spectacular job. They continue to work for me and I find them to be one of the best contractors and cabinet makers I have ever used. I highly recommend them.

This post is totally inaccurate. I am a continuing satisfied customer of Marzilli and find it ashame that the internet can be used to trash good honest people.

I also agree with the above, Marzilli is finishing any outstanding work and taking care of his homeowner customers, in the same quality manner as always! In this situation, filing for bankrupcy was indicative of a tough market, not a dishonest person.

Marzilli should be tarred and feathered! He put his 2 million dollar bayfront mansion in his mother's name so when he declared bankruptcy he kept his nest while he screwed everyone else. I wouldn't let this bum build a birdhouse for me, and all those here in Ocean City who know him feel the same. He won't be building much longer around here--people are wising up to this scumbag. And yes, that was him at the Flyers playoff games sitting behind goal in his $400 seats.

''And yes, that was him at the Flyers playoff games sitting behind goal in his $400 seats."

Bankruptcy is a tough thing. Marzilli construction builds beautiful homes and fell to the hands of the bad economy. Maybe the house was in his mother's name to protect his family? I think sometimes people do what they have to do.. and for the flyers game, too much time on your hands but thier son is very involved in hockey and it might just be some FAMILY TIME.

Its sad how some people are so quick to point out other's flaws.

Whoever you are you are so totally misinformed. The bayfront home is not in Marzilli's mothers name and yes he was in the seats at the hockey game. How observant you are,but again, totally ,misinformed and I do not beleive you are owed any explanations. Marzilli was caught in the economic mudslide and is and excellent builder with integrity and skills. He has a long list of satisfied customers and a will continue to be a respected builder. I hope that "Tom s " can find more to do with his free time and does not ever run in to economic difficulties.

Wow so many negative comments. This is what's wrong with Hammonton. People like to trash people in this town. The economy tanked. Marzilli provided lots of jobs for people and did quality work.

I was recently made aware that this site existed and I was quite surprised to read the negative comments of the misinformed contributors that find it so easy to "cast stones" and then hide in anonymity. As a registered architect,I have had the good fortune to work with Lou Marzilli on many projects over the years. I have always found him and his staff to be extremely professional and constantly striving to provide a high level of quality in their final product. With over thirty years of experience in the business, it is difficult to find someone like Lou that is willing to provide so many additional services, often at no cost to his clientele, after the project had been completed. It is my opinion that, if he is guilty of anything, it was his desire to re-invest in his company to try and make it even better. Despite his current situation, I will remain loyal to Lou Marzilli and would never hesitate to provide a reference for him or his company. Futhermore, I respect Lou Marzilli for having the courage and tenacity to resolve his problems with remarkable dignity.

All unfinished work is either completed or in the process of being completed and almost done. Things are not always what they seem. I do not know what gives people the right to make assumptions into other peoples lives when they are not in them. All people who file bankruptcy are not crooks. Bankruptcy not only protects the company but can also protect the people owed money. Marzilli Construction has a long list of happy clients and subcontractors that are still working with the company. You do not get 20 + years of a good reputation for nothing. Everyone is struggling through tough economic times. If people took the same amount of effort to help each other as they do to crush and destroy each other we would all be doing much better and be much happier.

Seriously??? This is Lou & Nina's FOURTH round of bankruptcy (91, 92, 2005, 2008). They know and are working the system. They will come out unscathed because the house on the bay is in Momma M's name. Feel badly for the poor subs who will get pennies on the dollar. Who is protecting their families???

How nice of his sister-in-law to defend him! Are you on the payroll?
or did Nina give the $592 of merchandise from Victoria's Secret that she declared/defaulted on in her 2005 FL bankruptcy filing to you as a gift?

I'm glad that it looks like they'll be back in business. The economy has been tough on many businesses. The work Marzilli did for me in the past was wonderful. I'm saddened to see that his company had fallen on hard times.

Linda, Tom, Julia, whoever

The Topix asks that you "BE POLITE"

They should ask that you "BE TRUTHFUL"

Whoever you are you are so MISINFORMED. Where do you get your information or maybe you just have fun making this stuff up..All I can do is shake my head. There is a saying "when you spit up it comes back down"......remember that.

My husband is truly a good person.

A client said once of my husband, "he builds a home not a house"

Enough said..........

When Lou declared bankruptcy, our home was barely out of the ground. It sat for 2 months untouched. When the bankruptcy took place, we were excluded. We rewrote our agreement and Lou completed our home. Lou and his employees and subcontractors built a quality home for us. We could not ask for a better builder or friend. The work gets done the right way, not the expedient way. We will support him in any way we can.

It's a damn pity there are so many angry jealous people in the world. Sorry you like the flyers and couldn't attend. Sorry the Marzili's worked hard for a long time to afford luxuries in life. When the economy tanks, as families and HUMANS, we do what we have to do..Enough said. Go piss up a rope to all u assholes
PS go look at any single home MARZILI has built. FLAWLESS. and i have worked in the business for 30 years
