Growing up here in the late 80's/early 90's, this used to be a somewhat neat little town. Some of my favorite local establishments were Papa Dick's, and while I don't remember how the food tasted, the ambience was spectacular. There was also a bowling alley/miniature golf etc place, I think it was called Gold Star or something like that. I spent many a day there with friends. I also used to frequent StopLight video and Televideo I think they were called, video rental places. The Westside Deli was good for soft shell tacos. And there were others as well. I had fun riding my bicycle to the various local establishments and such.
But Papa Dick's and the Gold Star burned down I think, and were not replaced. Well, Papa Dick's got turned into a couple different restaurants I believe, like the Red Cedar Grill with its absurdly high prices. Gold Star got turned into a Mammoth Video and Mancino's, among other things, but I think both of those are not out of there as well. Not sure what is there currently, if anything. The rest disappared. Others like Felpausch, Reener's and Dairy Queen got renamed. Virtually nothing of the town I remember still exists.
