Is it true we are paying the people in the assessor office to come out into the field to campaign for canditates?????
This is why I hate Mingo County. We have D. Basiden, Ramona, M. Sparks, D Toler to name a few that don't pay as much or any on their taxes because of the really working people. I work in mines everyday. they ask me to support the marcum boy, no, it is hard working against Obama and that is who he is for. Im not for Tomblin. We want to keep out jobs and keep coal going. The court house gain uses whatever to get a vote and now they are using our tax paying money. Come on people vote them all out.

What are you stupid or crazy? They come out every so often to check the properties to adjust taxes. Trust me, they have raised mine due to additions to places I own. It is called "doing their job" since most of us do not fill out the papers they send in the mail for us to tell them what we have. I think the last time they were here was about 2-3 years ago, and trust me, we did not speak of campaign, we just went over my personal property. Election time! Wveryone take a deep breath and smell the BS!!!!!

This is now rumors and misinformation begins. It was announced publicly that assesors office personel would begin making visits to evaluate homes. I doubt they will solicit for voties because they could lose their jobs if they do it or simply tell them you won't discuss candidates.

True. But Mingo county has a really bad name for vote buying n liquor trades for votes. I can see why everyone thinks bad of our county. It is time for a change.

It does seem that Mingo County politicians have a bad reputation for being dishonest; but no one seems to have an specific information or proof of wrongdoing and I've asked people on TOPIX this question many times. The best answers I get is about some petty little occurence that anyone could blunder and commit. And if our elected officials are all that dishonest, how on earth do they manage to get re-elected time and time? The things people say and the reality aren't consistent. Truthfully, I haven't voted in Mingo that often, but no one has ever offered to buy my vote for money or booze. I'm beginning to think all this talk of dishonesty and corruption is nothing more than tall tales people are blinding clinging to from years ago.

People keep forgetting politicians are human. "Man that live in glass house should not throw stones"! If people are so concerned and believe they can change the world, then do it! I see lots of things about lots of people on Topix, and I always try to post on things in a positive light. Why do we want to hurt others? Why complain when you can do? I think about running for a public office someday myself. I do think there are things out there that I could make a positive change/difference in. Until then, I willcast my vote to let my voice be known, and if I have a problem with someone I will not vote for them. I have enough problems of my own without having to worry about someone elses, let them answer to God for their lives.

I don t mean to be a smarty type person. But does it really matter what they are doing anywhere anymore?Since our elders gave our generations the control of the government,Everything has gotten way out of the way. They do anything they want and get by with it.You can call anyone you want and it does no good. The government has gotten way too big and way too powerful to stop.It won t be long until you will not be allowed to express your thought on anyone in office or you will in fact be in a butt load of trouble for nothing. It pretty much is that way now only they call those people poor people and working class. They are also blackballing people from the way they make their livings and forcing them to cut life long ties to the area and leave. The best thing everyone can do is just leave and let them boss each other around like the way they want too. This country was born on people with different opinions and respect. That country is now gone and the people in control should be ashamed, because when I was growing up it was called communism and it failed. Now we as a greedy and dog eat dog nation have made that economy work wonderful by sending them our jobs to use forced, pay less child labor. We have also taken a valuable tool away from this country by not listening to the people who have to labor in it.Just because you can do algebra in your head does not mean you can tell a man how to mine safe clean coal, cut a tree, drive a truck or even dispose of trash. It takes a working capital, know how and people concerned for the development of future generations without trying to make every dollar that goes by them.I got news for those people, that same dollar will float by you, your children, their children and grandchildren. So no matter how much you make, you will die and leave it to someone else to make again. So again I say to you people, just stop and let them finish screwing up this country and then when they realize that they don t have labor to make anymore money, maybe then they ll listen to us again. Its like you re already gone anyhow.Their in the process of getting army people and law enforcement ready for the final financial collapse anyhow.Just look around, they are calling it exercises.
