What is your reasoning for this post? Is it because of the accident or because noise in the neighborhood?

I didn't post it, but I'm sure it was posted because of the accident that could of been prevented.
Where were the barriers? Or how about the sirens to stop the derby?
I only pray OSHA gets ahold of them.

Mark my words this will probably not be the last "accident" at Moler maybe not in the near future but it will happen again. The state of Ohio is doing a big disservice to the residents if they don't investigate Saturday's derby.

the state has no regulations for drebys or barriers or sirens the state over sees the county sheriff deparment If they belive there is not somthing being done that could be done they would have stepped in

Yes, Molers should be shut down. They have did nothing but cause trouble with their loud noise. And now a Man is dead because of there back Yard Hillbilly Derby. They have no concern for human life. They don't know what Safety is. Also its not who you know in Brown County its who you blow!!

The Molers continue on with business as usual. If they're smart they will think of safety first and foremost above and beyond anything else. From what I understand there's people (neighbors) who have wanted at the very least to have a self imposed curfew. Apparently they have not heeded people's wishes. What's the saying? What goes around comes around. The accident was probably the beginning of their troubles.

The loss was tragic at the very least... I understand the neighbors being upset with the noise as well. But the truth of the matter is that every racer and crew man/official know the risk associated with their role at the track. As a racer and a race fan I can tell you that Moller's have a great facility and safety is a priority at this track. Again the incident was something that could have been provented and it's sad that it wasn't, but in any case it was an accident (unforseen event) that nobody would have immagined. My thaughts and prayers are still with the family...

Unforseen??? Are you kidding me, the first thought that came to my mind when I saw the track was "somebody's going to get hurt, where are the barriers?" And as I was waiting for the derby to begin I kept thinking, that maybe their not ready and they are going to bring the barriers out before it begins, then when they didn't and right before the derby started my brother's exact words were, somebody's gonna get hurt, and guess what somebody lost a life because their ignorance. Where was the safety priority that you talked about that night, because I was there and I didn't see it! I really hope Moler's learned their lesson and put safety on their top priority next time they decide to have a hillbilly backyard derby!

It's real interesting to read what people are saying that were there the night this poor man died. The Moler's and other fans are passing it off saying at least Buddy was doing what he wanted to do. If my loved one died sky diving I would not say that. Apparently they were negligent. Those that are fans of the Moler's need to keep what happened in perspective. Come Christmas time is Buddy's family going to keep singing the same song? I don't know how long the statue of limitation is for wrongful death, which is what I'd call what happened.

Yes, someone could die by just going out and driving down the road. Race tracks are intrinsically dangerous and people don't HAVE to race a car but on the other hand driving down the road to go on with out lives is necessary! Why keep a business open when it's been proven that deaths have occured because of it? Moler Raceway needs to be investigated. Are racetracks exempt from any scrutiny just because it's a racetrack? Any other business would have been investigated.

You know all this crap about Moler's is really getting old. Only one side of the story is getting told. The only thing people ever say is how bad the race track is and how bad the Moler family is. Nobody ever talks about the illegal things the neighbors of the track do. MRP has broke no laws, they have never went out of their way to hurt or offend anyone and the have better things to do than sit around and whine and complain all the time. Why hasn't anyone talked about how people threw nails in the driveway week after week or about the ridiculous signs they put up all the time or the camera that got broke.I agree that when Buddy died at the track is was a tragic accident and yes it could have been prevented. He knew what he was doing and had been around derbies for years. Not that it was his fault it was a tragic accident and thats it. Does anyone know why they were having a derby or was Moler the actual ones having it? I bet not!!! It was for charity. The track is so bad that they were helping out a charity. The track brings in money week after week to all the businesses in the area. It has produced jobs for local brown countians. It gives the people of brown county something to do on a friday night. I am a single mom with two kids and I whole heartedly support the race track and the Moler family. I like the extra money I get from the track and my kids love going to the race track every week. As a single mother and a resident of Mt. Orab I am thrilled that they opened the track and will do anyting I can to keep it open.
