To the people who have been asking, "What are special projects" referring to the new job that was created when Mr.Willie Powell took Carl's old job.I think the mystery has been solved. Mr.Paul was seen beating the bushes yesterday evening(Wed.) putting Bobby Terrell signs in yards where people would let him. This must come under the description of "Special Projects" I wonder if he is reimbursed for mileage on these trips? I bet they could easily be logged as such. Don't work too hard Mr. Paul.Maybe, in a couple of weeks all of you can get some rest from all the sign erecting, tailgate parties, ballgames, fall festivals, open houses, phone calling, etc.You all look as if you need the rest.
Just wondering

No, this guy is 60ish, works for the WC Bd. of Ed.He was head of maintenance or something like that.(His two sons, two daughters in laws, son in law,his daughter, all work for the board too. Don't ask me their titles. I don't know.Gosh, I'm beginning to think his name must be Anderson. Anyway.... Then he got a big promotion with the title of "Special Projects" which no one had any idea what that meant. He's Lonnie's right hand man.He has been to most of my relatives houses down in the area where he lives trying to get Bobby Terrell signs up.

Bobby Terrell did not order his own election signs. It makes sense that a "Special Projects" director would be needed to put the signs in place. After all, Lonnie Anderson always tells him how to vote. If he had to make an effort to do anything on his own, he would not be on the ballet.

I'd have to agree, Lonnie knows how to pick them. They all seem to have the same personality traits: quiet, slow to speak in public, very passive, never questionable, somewhat shy, boring, and ones that are slow to speak.Makes you wonder why they're on the board in the first place

i think the answer is obvious, people with those personality traits can be easily controlled

So just because he is employed by the Board of Ed. means he can campaign for someone he believes in??? That's an American right and is not contingent on employers.

Of course it is. We who are employed in the school system would like the same right without fear of unpleasant consequences if our political views do not agree with the administration.
That is not the case. However, the administration does violate its own policy by talking with employees on the job to be sure they are supporting the "right" people for board member.

What about the rights of the poorly paid employees that he's "persuading" to put those signs up? Some of them have said, and I quote, "I had to put the sign up because if I lose my job, I won't have insurance." That doesn't sound like the American way to me.If I were in that situation, it would make me resent them by them trying to tell me how to vote. Makes me proud to say that I work at WIS.

It is called the Whitley County Mafia, and Anderson is the Godfather. What a joke. We let a high school dropout control this county.

Surely this isn't true...about Mr. Anderson being a highschool dropout...didn't think someone without a GED could possibly be in this position?? Mr. Anderson surely has one or the other?

And no one else realizes that we need to elect new board members and stop some of LA's control? I agree with braveheart 110%!

I went to school with Lonnie and yes, he did drop out in senior year and join the military. He must have gotten his GED while he was in the army.I heard he later went to Cumberland on the GI Bill. I moved away for a long time and didn't see him but, when I came back to Whitley to visit he was the superintendent. So, a superintendent can be elected with a GED. I haven't talked to him since highschool but, he must have changed a lot since then going by the posts on here.He sure is getting a lot of attention.

Class of 68 you must have slept through graduation if you don't remember Lonnie Anderson walking across the stage with us. Lonnie graduated from high school, attended Cumberland College for a couple of years, served in the Army Military Police Corp for two years and then used his GI bill to complete a Bachelor of Science degree at Cumberland College.

It is hard to believe that jealous people post such malicious comments on this web site. It appears that some people have done very little with their life and are anxious to criticize someone like Lonnie that has served their community and country well.

What is malicious about telling the truth? You sure know a lot of details about this man. When he joined, where he went, what his position in the military was,how he paid for his college, etc. If I didn't know better I would think you were Lonnie himself telling his autobiography.
