after reading the posts about no pop being allowed on food stamps, I called the food stamp office and just asked them if the state was going to stop the sell of soft drinks (pop) with food stamps and they said it wasn't...they did state the some states, such as Tennessee, were going to cut out certian items that can be bought with food stamps but Kentucky's laws weren't changing at this time and definately not by Feb. 3rd...now I personally do not buy pop to resell, only to drink or sell my food stamps because I get them to feed my three kids (who eat like horses) but I do know people that do ...they do sell their stamps but it isn't for 50 cents to the dollar...it is double...one cash dollar for two food stamp dollars...if I were the people buying them I couldn't live with myself for doing that to people and the people that do sell their stamps should be ashamed for taking food out of their kids mouths to support a habit...they are the reason that people who truly need them can't get it same way with pain pills...so many people abuse it, it keeps the people who have legitimate problems from getting help...it is sad what our world has become...yes I get food stamps but only because I had no other way to feed my kids and it took me a long time to apply for them but my kids come first...I worked for years and paid into the system and then became disabled due to a car accident but I refuse to be this way for life...I am currently enrolled in school to further my education so I can get a job where i'm not on my feet constantly...I want more for my kids than just feeding them...I want to be able to get up and say "hey, we are going to take a vacation next week...let's go to Disney world" and not have to worry about money to go on...you know what I mean...I want to be able to give my kids everything I can...sorry for venting...God bless you all

They not only sell their food stamps. I know people that also sell their WIC. Druggies will do anything to get their fix. Officials just don't pay enough attention.

It would be helpful if persons on WIC and foodstamps had to keep and show receipts to continue qualifying for those benefits. That way they would have an incentive to buy appropriate foods, and could not get by with buying gas, drugs, beer, cigs, etc. o r selling them for cash. Accountability is good for everyone...helps keep us honest.

we get food stamps to help feed our kids and thats what they need to be used for, all the low life's that sell them can't care bout thier kids at all couse they would rather have what they want instead of feeding thier kids, that is sick, lord help those kids, for those of us that love our kids apeciate the help, and should not be punished for the stupid low down dirty ways of some ppl in this town. yes if u know some one that sells them or a store that trades them turn them in, they don't deserve to get food stamps if they ant going to take care of thier kids.

listen, don't let people like the one who replied to your post get you down...there are many reasons that people sell their foodstamps and if they do or not is their own business...i personally do not sell mine but then again, i have never been put in a situation where i was completely broke either, i have family to fall back on in tough times and without them i would probably be letting some of mine go too...sometimes you do what you have to do to survive...people can shout "your taking food out of your kids mouths" but if you have no electric, you can't cook the food your stamps buy, right...you hang in there and don't let these self rightous hypocrites get you down....it must be nice not having your crap smell :) God bless you

I'm not an official but I would be willing to go to jail if I seen someone sale their assistance instead of providing for their kids! I'll bet the judge would go easy on me. They had better hope I never see it with my own eyes because I guarantee they will need their medical card! What low life's! Then the others on here trying to justify it. What a waste of air. Let one of them try to sale me pop they got with their stamps.
I say we make tomorrow turn in a welfare fraud day.

If this goes on instead of complaining do something. Put the names on here of people and stores that do this and call and tell the food stamp office. It's your tax dollars.

Ok, so they go to the grocery store and buy groceries with their food stamp card for $100.00, then they deliver them to the person who will give them $50.00 for the groceries. What will having a receipt prove?
