A person's rights should be protected until the exercise of their rights interferes with, or takes away, another person's right.

Smokers have the right to poison their bodies if they wish. The problem arises when their smoke (even in the non-smoking section of a restaurant) enters MY lungs and exposes me to the same risks to which they exposed themselves.

Smokers have the right to smoke but I thank the Williamsburg City Council for protecting my right to breathe carcinogen-free air in public places.

Is this for public places? When does it go into effect?
