Hi my name is Glenda Young and I am running as a Write-in candidate for Whitley County Jailer. I am writing because it is hard to meet all the people of Whitley County and I want to asked for your vote and help in the November election. I care about all the people of Whitley County. Any person can end up in jail, the jailor's job is to see to the running of the Jail, the guards under his command and the care of the immates. This is the jailers responsibility. The Jailer is accountable for the guards and for those in custody. He is not a judge or jury it is the jailer's job to see that those in custody are safe and their needs are met until the court system decide. I am asking for your vote. Some do not know what a write-in vote is, this is where you sign on the line below Jailer that is provided on the voter sheet.
As a Jailer I will be availiable to the public as well as to the inmates. I want a better rappart with the public, family of the inmates and with the officers of the law. As well as programs to help inmates without the cost being placed on tax payers.
I am the daughter of Lynn and Irene Townley. Lynn Townley was a building contractor. I am the daughter-n-law of Carl Eugene (Gene)Young, former Jailer and Joyce L. Martin. My father -n-law was voted as best Jailer in Whitley County. I have worked as a deputy jailer, a school teacher, care provider at Baptist Hospital, a book keeper and those with mental health issues. My degree of study is psychology. As a deputy jailer I have worked with the public and law enforcement. I have the experience to run the jail and to see that it is a success. I have lived in Whitley County the last 25 years.
In November you will make a choice for our county with your help we can change it for the better. I do not need to tell you the things wrong with our county, if you live here or work here you know the problems our county copes with. I want to thank you for your time and I hope your vote.
Sincerely, Write-in candidate Glenda Young

I was right with you until you said you wanted a better rappart with the public and families of the inmates. That's part of the problem up at the jail now. If the jailer knows the family or inmate then the inmate has a pretty easy way to go and lots of extra priviledges. If the jailer doesn't know the family than the inmate is out of luck. Too many special favors to families the jailer is friendly with. How about forgetting all this rapport with the families and public and just doing the job right across the board. Same fair rules and regulations for all inmates. Same good care for all inmates. Good health care for all inmates.

Give me a break , Now a woman has to try to run because her husband can't get elected , what makes you think you will get any where better than he did! How many times was it that he ran 4 or 5 times. sure it was time to give up. Please do the same give up before it gets started. And Jan she is an awesome person she probably would make a great Jailer for maybe women but for men also! it takes a man for the Job. As for Jailere there is no one running capable of being a jailer not even Ken. we are just out of luck, same as all williamsburg political officals they are just a joke that is way williamsburg has nothing but Crooks counting all the Officals also. You have money or pull you serve no time or get away with anything even murder.

Sorry, but these ladies ain't got the chance of a snowball in hell of getting elected Jailer....

Some of you like to criticize Ken Mobley as our Jailer...you need to remember that when Les Moses was elected over Mobley, he lasted not even a week! He saw the job that Mobley is able to do every day and he KNEW he couldn't do it! We would not even have a jail up and runnning right now if not for Ken Mobley.....I think I'd keep that in mind if I were each of you when the next election rolls around!!! I know I appreciate the job Mobley has done because NOBODY ELSE is even capable of doing it! Just ask ole Les Moses....

well now i disagree, I believe a woman could handle that job just as well or not better than Mobley or any other man, a woman is just better at managing and budgeting

Yeah, Moses left when he found out he wasn't going to be able to do the job the way it should be done. With ethics. The jail may be up and running but it's not running right. The 'good ole boy' network is still alive and well in Williamsburg, at least at the jail.

Sure Moses left but do you all know the real reason, Hmmmmm1 what if he was threatened because he wanted to make a difference but as we all know Whitley County has its own little Mafia, I will tell you sure i voted for Moses , i would never vote for Mobley. Pat and Mobley Knew what they were doing They knew that they along with the rest of the clicks control Whitley County and that Moses wasn't going to do what they wanted , So they had to get moses out by threating him and his Family.( The way i see it is that Arnold Young was runner up it should have been turned over to him not Mobley! Don't get me wrong i never voted for Young Probabley never would have and i sure am not voting for his wife or any other woman or one running they are worth the time wasted for voting for! And now that Les Moses didn't at least try to stand up for him self i would never vote for Him either. Sure i would vote for a worthy person that has got the big ones to not be afraid of the Williamsburg Click and do the right job as a good Jailer.

You are more full of shit than a Christmas Turkey!! Good grief, Les and Ken became very close friends after Les won and then backed outta the job and begged Ken to take it back! Nobody was threatening Les' family in any shape, form, or fashion!! Another thing, ain't no woman gonna run that flipping jail! You people apparently have never been in that jail for over 5 minutes and do not have a flipping CLUE as to what all the job as JAILER involves!!!! YOU AIN'T SEEN SHIT!!!!

If I wasn't elderly and retired I would because I don't doubt for a minute I could run it better. I sure couldn't do any worse. Anyone with half a brain could run that jail. Guess that leaves you out. Have a good day.

Thanks for the laugh and for tellin it like it is! These ppl on here do not have any idea what it takes to run a jail! They would probably vote for Jerry F. Taylor to be jailer again if they could, that is about how much sense some of them have!

i am very interested in the jailers race. i wont mobley out _AGAIN .i hope im wrong, i think that the laddies that are running were put up to run to take votes away from mr. fuston if thats his name.i dont know mr. fuston but i want mr.mobley out.now i want mr. white out too. i believe a woman could do this job.maybe better.i also think arnold young should have been given the job after moses bowed out. i dont see why he wasnt.other than being democrat. it makes me no difference demo, or rep. right is right and mr. white was very WRONG.i wont forget that.i appreciate the laddies that are running,i believe women are more compassionate and would put our inmates health above all else. this is what we need right now. i also think that a woman would not put up with guards mistreatment of anybody...

Well if anyone had been keeping up with jail tracker after mobley got beat he dropped the state inmates and inmates down to 140 and it showed the jail broke,Now after Moss could not run it on no funds guss what put mobley back in and jail inmates goes back up over 215 wow wake up whitley county there has been inmates die under his watch. And all you have to do is go pull the inmates status after he was voted out and bingo you will see for yourself it was a set up.

well i believe a woman can run a couple offices in Williamsburg just not Jailer or Sheriffs office. Gary Barton's or Ronnie Moses or even Pat white's or his Magistrates office just maybe the women that are running for Jailer may reconsider and run for those office when it is time for re-election for those . But jailer got to be Kidding. As i stated back a few / A woman has no place in the Jail , and what we have no is no better than a woman . and Rice and Fuson well the just don't have what it takes either! Aure as i stated i never voted for Arnold Young never would or Will but i believe he should have been placed in there after Moses resigned. But he can't win and election so what makes his Wife think she Can give me a break. The whole County has gone to the sewer and i really don't see them getting out of it!

Well, I you had any knowledge about how the state inmate inflow fluctuates, you would know that there are times when there are many, and there are times when there are few. This is one of the challenges that Ken faces weekly, monthly. It changes OFTEN. Ken is always trying to get more state inmates all the time to help keep the jail on an even keel. Many times there is not a damn thing he can do about it! If you knew anything at all about the situation, you would know that already!!

Yes, there have unfortunately been one or two inmates who died in the jail. It is not a hospital after all. Ken cannot be there 24/7 and he has admitted that there were things that had gone on there that even he was not aware of. Many of the people arrested may come in after just ingesting their drugs that they had on them right before the cops got to them. They may overdose. The boy that died there who was a severe diabetic, I blame his death on the nurse. Ken was not there. He has since gotten a new nurse and has made many improvements in the staff, and many other areas which needed improvement.

Try working at the jail sometime and then your eyes will REALLY be opened and you will see some things!!! Ken was man enough to walk back in those doors and be OUR JAILER again, even after losing the election. Now, that is what I call A BIG MAN and a REAL MAN.

Thanks for all your hard work and dedication KEN MOBLEY!!!!!!!!!!
