Just wondering

What is going on with the team? I have heard that some boys quit and others are not playing. Is it the same as always or what is the problem?

Whiners and quiters...better off without them, give Coach Baker time and he will turn the program around, minus the whiners and quiters.

Whiners---I don't get to player enough or my baby boy does not get to play enought

Quiters---letting their teammates down by not finishing the season, can not depend on them ever again.

my son plays on the team, and I was so embarresed at Coach Bakers actions at the Corbin game,we will never get past Whitleys bad rep. as long as he continues to act the way he does. He needs to show our boys a good example.

I missed it. What did he do?

First off, calling Chris Baker a "Coach" is pretty ridiculous. He treats the majority of those boys horribly and appears to have to knowledge of basketball. His reasoning for subbing during games is a joke. The Colonels could have won many more games this season if it wasn't for his stupidity. He is definitely an embarrassment to the boys, the parents, the fans, and the district. To "WC Dad" in the previous post--Baker will not be able to set a good example for the boys. Unfortunately, he lacks the class, integrity, morale, or educational ability to do so.

Here is the problem with disgruntled parents, I mean fans... They get on this site, run their cock sucker, and don't have the stones to go to the coach and speak their mind. Looking back at some of the games the Colonels have improved vastly from the short-lived Deaton era. I watched the Corbin game and it looked to me like the Boys played extremely hard, they were just outmatched by the Redhounds who happen to be ranked 7 in the state. I for one am proud the boys and I hope they continue to improve.

I'm proud of the boys too, but that doesn't change the truth about Chris Baker. He has no morals or intelligence on or off the floor--the truth is the truth. And I'm not a disgruntled parent, so if that remark was towards me then apparently your assumptions are incorrect. Furthermore, Baker knows exactly how I, as well as many others, feel about him. You can't hide the truth.

If you were truely a fan you would not be on here undermining the coach. You obviously have an axe to grind, and an agenda. I know alot about basketball and I know alot of people who also know alot about basketball, and they agree (grudgingly in some cases) that COACH Baker has done a good job with the team this year. Grow up or at least act your age and leave the man alone.

Yeah, that's a laugh...if you knew ANYTHING about basketball you couldn't possibly think Chris Baker has done a good job with the team. Thanks for the humor though.

Maybe if you know so much, you need to be the coach--sure hope you don't ever lose!

As I read this thread, I see that one person seems to have the gripe. I bet they sat the bench as a player when they were in high school and was living their life through their kid. Fan_not has it right, there is most certainly an axe to grind by that person. They don't care about the team or what the other kids are doing, they more than likely sit in the stands and scream for the players to throw the ball to their kid. Or they complain becuase their kid is not getting playing time becuase he cannot guard a refrigerator. Get a life and get behind the team, and cheer them onto victory. Did you notice how well the football team did when everyone was working towards the same goal? No parents complaining, dragging kids attitudes down? Sorry if you are not happy go complain somewhere else, TRUE FANS are sick and tired of your lame complaints.

If you know so much about basketball what would you do differently? I can guess but it would be too funny to write on here.

The whiners need to go ahead and send their super stars to play for Corbin's "state ranked" team. They've threatened making this move several times and I think they would be crazy not to transfer their kids to play for a team like Corbin. I would be shocked if coach P has not already shown interest. Watch Out Madison- you may have competition for your starting position headed your way!

The truth of the matter is the problem with Whitley is Lonnie Anderson sellilng out on eleven boys basketball coaches in his tenure. Everything starts at the top and when you have no leadership there it is hard for the coaches and kids to overcome that. Whitley leads the state and possibly the nation in changing the boys basketball Coaches. Whitley County has no one to blame but themselves as they have allowed Anderson to do this.

The boys at whitley are doing just fine. They are playing hard and that is all you can ask for. They beat the # 5 team in the region last week in bell co. without their most valuable player jamie lebanion. once he is back in the mix and playing hard along with the rest of the team i think they will have a chance to make some noise.

As far as the quitters go, i say they are better off without em. nonody likes whiners.

I think the team is doing a great job. I'm sure that if those three kids didn't have whiney parents, they would still be on the team. Jake Lowrie is doing awesome, did you see that dunk at the Corbin game? It also looked like Dee stepped up and put in those 3 pointers that "nobody but Zack" could put up. Go Colonels!
