I work at the hospital. And I have to say there are some areas that could do for improvement, not everyone there is bad and I love my job as a PCA on 3 South on nights. Its like all places though. Some people love it and some people hate it.
I've had my own good and bad experiances here as patient but thats with every hospital. But I always give the best care I can

I took my underage child to BRMC's ER because she told me that someone had given her a pill and she didn't know waht it was. You could tell that she had taken something. And when the doctor came in he told that her drug screen was neg. A couple of weeks later I took her to family doctor for a checkup and he handed me a copy of the results from the hospital and told me I needed to see it. And that is when I learned that she had tested positive for POT. How could a doctor hide something like that

The doctors in the ER are idiots. There is one doctor and a few nurses down there that are good. But as for the rest of them they are lazy idiots.
The actual patient care floors are very good though. The nurses and aids on the floors they work very hard.

My sister and I were both born at BRMC, and I had outpatient surgery there 6 years ago. We never had any problems at all, although I've heard other people say differently.

There is not one Hospital that is perfect. BRMC has it's faults as do all the others. Does anyone recall The fancy hospital in LA that overdosed Dennis Quaids newborn twins with 100 X the amount of blood thinners they were soupposed to recieve? It is a Global issue, not just a Corbin issue.

I had my son at BRMC 12 years ago. I had a wonderful experience back then, but something has happened in the last few years. Last October I broke my heel completely in two in two different places. I went to BRMC. The doctor their told me that all I had was a bad sprain and I was just pill seeking. The next morning at 8 am I got a phone call telling me I needed to come back to the hospital. No reason whatsoever. When I got there they had a prescription for some very strong pain medicine and an appointment for a surgeon. They didn't bother to tell me what was wrong. I didn't find out how bad my injury was until I got to the surgeons office. I'm not saying it is a horrible hospital but it's not good either.

A couple years ago I had a real bad gallbladder attack. I was in so much pain I couldnt breath. We I got to the ER they took blood gave me a shot and said I needed to follow up with my family Doc for tests. Well first off I didnt want the meds and begged them not to give them to me but to take the gallbladder out. They sent me on my way thats it. I bet a quarter if I had went to Jellico they would have admited me and took the damn thing out. I hurt for months till I fonally got to Dr wilkins in Jellico and he took it out the next day!

I'm an rn in the er and I do not appreciate what u have said. We work our asses off, unless u have ever worked in an er u have no idea of what we deal with, mentally physically, or emotionally! I have coded children, major trauma's, and many countless other situations that would probably shake Ur crazy ass to the core! Get a life and act like a real health care provider, try to be a positive attitude for our hospital instead of putting it down. And the next time ur sitting on ur ass up on the floor, come down and see what a real life saving experience is all about!

Uns don't do shit in the er......besides sit on the doctors lap and flirt...... My brother was took to the er via ambulance due to a bad knee injury that happened @ work. When we got to the hospital it took them a hour and a half to even get a xray done on his knee....once the xray was done the dr came in and said well nothin broke so we will send u home with a brace and crutches and follow up with ur dr......even though the er dr knew he couldn't lift his leg up off the bed.....well he had a mri the next day which showed his knee cap was completely sideways and has several torn legiments including his mineska.....he is scheduled for surgery in Lex on tuesday!!!!!! They need to care more about their patients and have compassion for them....... They sent him home from the er with two pain pills to do him through the night and the next day. Get real. Just cause some ppl r pill seekers don't mean everybody is!!!!!! He was in some serious pain and everybody knew it!!!!!! I hate that er. They need some different doctors to run that place!!!!!!

They treat people like they are drug seekers, i know someone who had fell and went there to get help they told her to walk on her foot and gave her no meds! She was in pain!
She went to her family doc & her foot was broke in 2 places, THEY NEED x-ray technicians who know how to read radiology reports or how to interpret x-rays the radioligist there at night must suck!
There was someone needing psych and once they told them they have seen doc moses before they was treated BAD-it went from good to bad and that person had only been to moses one time when they was small over pulled ligaments in there foot! They was there to get an evaluation to get medication not there for drugs-i was with them I do know that they needed meds! Blessedly the doc that they called said to put them in and did give them meds after the pee test came back negative! Until that they was told that they could refuse them treatment! i would have taken them someplace else if that had happened and put a complaint in at the main office
The x-ray technicians aren't allowed to tell patients what is wrong, that is the radiologists job, they do nothing wrong. All their allowed to do is give the x-ray. The rest is up to the radiologist. At least they try.

Maybe YOU need to be taking better care of your child. If you stupid kid took a pill and didn't know what it was, she has some serious problems. You better get help for her NOW.
