The soap did exsist...my grandmother used this soap in the the 1940 & 1950. When I saw the movie I was very excited to find the soap but to no avail...

I have watched this movie 5 times since it came on cable and all those times I heard the same response from Donna after Frank tells her the name of the soap she is wearing, "yes, my Grandmother gave me 3 bars for Christmas." The soap must smell wonderful. I would love to be able to smell it.

Have been watching reruns of Scent of a Woman on HBO - what a great film! Was in Endland last year and didn't think of looking for 'Ogilvie's Sisters Soap' until I was on the plane home! Have a dear friend whose in-laws are in Scotland, will ask and let y'all know what I find out.

I believe it is not "sisters" but "Cistus" soap. Cistus is a plant or an essential oil. As to finding it - you got me! I've been looking for it too!

The company no longeer sells Olgalvie Sisters Soap. My dad bought my the last bar in 1997. you could try, of all places, Goodwill charity shops, Many Estates donate to them now and agin and you can find a bar or two there , or Ebay, or Estate Sales.

I ordered from Ogleby Sisters Soap and it was the nicest soap I've ever used! They actually have a bar called Tango and my boyfriend loves it on me and he even uses it and so do I!

Ogilvie Sisters products were indeed real, but evidently are no longer available. In the 60's Ogilvie Sisters Castile Shampoo was "de rigueur" for soft, shiny hair.

Hi Marian, I did a search with different spelling and I found the soap. Here is the link and the sites states that they are the only place that you can purchase the soap. I ordered two bars. They are out of a lot of the soaps.
Pay attention to how it is spelled in the beginning of url.

Gloria, I have found the web site for the soap, rather soaps. It may have only been one way back then, but they have many now. We were spelling the name wrong. Pay attention to the spelling at the beginning of this link.
Hope that you enjoy the soap you choose.

You are welcome Carolyn, I bought some last year, but wasn't impresssed by the smell. it was the sandalwood/vanilla, I think! I think the second bar was mango. I love the way they lathered and felt on my skin, but I don't know what scent was on the movie. They are handmade soaps and they have differnt ones to choose from. They have good sales if you just want to experiment, but then the stock is limited.
Let me know how you like them.
Betty
