You're looking at the top story in yesterday's Daily Snooze, folks.
Is it any wonder the publication is ridiculed in the Mon Valley?
When a banner headline is created because a drunken patron at a local dive runs his mouth and gets thumped for it, someone should announce that it's closing time for the Snooze.
Will Fawn demand answers as to the responsibilities of off-duty cops acting as bouncers at the February Council meeting???
Will Hereford, whose family and friends apparently wouldn't give him a ride, try to make a buck by blaming a city officer for responding in kind???
Stay tuned, folks. And remember, you'll read it first as a front page Snooze headline.

Several years ago, the Controller asked the then (and still?) Mayor Brewster if the city's insurance was to cover injuries or liabilities officers got while working such duties. I see police, in uniform, at local establishments. Anyone they thump can reasonably assume they are acting in a city capacity. I ave zero problem with our police moonlighting but I think this legal area needs to be further examined.

Yes I recall the controller trying to get a city position on that and if they work out of the city.
As usual the mayor put him down and the council puppets kept their eyes wide shut on this one.
It seems to me this is an unnecessary high risk situation that council could be culpable for nonfeasance. Unfortunately, this may be a bombshell waiting to happen.

I hope that our $120,000 a year mouthpiece has time for this. He's still tied up in the 8th year of registering our City Hall ownership with the County. These things take time.

Is this why there are almost $40,000 of school and county tax liens against City Hall?
Will they be exonerated before the City takes ownership or does the City have to pay off these liens?
Why would the Mayor hire him with this inexcusable baggage? What was the Mayor thinking or does politics and friendship get in the way of common sense?
I think he could be the Achilles heal of Mike’s political saga.
