Larry Stone wants to bring more Lowe's Corporate jobs to his hometown

Full story: bunker.websitetoolbox.com

Lowe's Companies Inc. provides about 1,200 jobs in Wilkes County and plans to keep a sizable workforce in the county, said Larry D. Stone, Lowe's president and chief operating officer. "We've got a great workforce here (in Wilkes)… people with a great work ethic here and tremendous roots to Lowe's. There's no reason we can't continue to grow parts of the business here," said Stone in a recent interview. He said the company plans to grow its customer contact center and other parts of the business at the corporate complex on U.S. 421 in Wilkesboro. Stone said it's premature to share more details until the economy turns around. He also mentioned plans for facility improvements to the corporate complex on U.S. 421 in Wilkesboro.

I think it's a good idea for Wilkesboro. Lowes is going to the "Walmart plan." That's lowering prices that American companies can't meet and they will lay off American workers and send their job to China. Also, just like Walmart, Lowes set up their stores smaller cities, selling Chinese goods. Paying low wages and put the small hardwares and small business men out of business and sucking all of the profit of that town, county and state and sending all that money to Wilkesboro.
Grab on to that money Wilkesboro, That's what we want in America. GREED. In 2008, Lowes lost 22% in business and the CEO Robert Niblock got a 11% raise, to makes his salary $55 Million for that year. The Lowes stockholder took a hit on their stock. Hummmmmm! These high income people, that comes to Wilkesboro will build fine new homes in gated areas and let the trickle down system work for the rest of the people in Wilkesboro.
If you want to know more about Lowes, GOOGLE in ( clash of the home-improvment titians ) and ( why i hate lowes )Also ( law suits agaist lowes ) I use to shop Lowes and it isn't the same company it use to be. I am shopping Home Depot and I can say they are realy trying, with the new headquarters manager, it is becoming a place to shop. I LIKE IT.
Have a good day. Bob Miller Lapel, Indiana

If Lowes wants a increase in business they need to sell american made goods. When you seem intent on putting your customer base out of work you are destined to fail. Of course as pointed out by Bob Miller some continue to get richer despite their failure.

You guys don't understand. This is wonderful news for Wilkesboro. I have numerous friends who have moved to Mooresville, NC to Lowes corporate headquarters there. Several more drive back and forth or ride the bus daily.
The effect of Lowes leaving us, along with furniture and textile industries, has turned our once booming town into an economic and cultural ghost town.
No, don't focus on the word corporate. It's the "little folks" that work in those offices that will stay employed, here at home.

Daily Horoscope for December 19

Sagittarius

A loved one gets hold of the wrong end of the stick today, causing endless hassle and fuss. They're likely to get upset in the process, so you have to calm them down, and that could lead to a squabble. You may also have to cope with discord when discussing family matters, with certain people getting bogged down in daft details that you think have nothing to do with the main issue.
