Been hassled my whole life by beach taggers just for going down to the beach for a couple hours. If people would pick up their trash and learn how to swim we could do away with beach tags all together.
It would be nice to not be bothered by roaming sand fleas every half hour on where is my beach tag. I HAD to show it to get in the beach in the first place!!
What a waste of money. Same goes for the police patrol who rides the quad looking for people under the boardwalk. Is it worth the 100g a year to look for teenagers making out under there??

I am not a beach goer, but grew up in trash AC. What better way to further drive another nail in the coffin of our "resort economies" than to charge more money for the privilege of some puss faced kid to come up to you and ask to see your beach tag, let alone hearing junior screaming, or his/her mother, going off, because junior did something bad. The beach is NOT a place to go for peace and quiet, just a place to get ripped off and hasseled! Ever see those signs that are hung on the entrances to the beach? No this, no that, everything is NO! I don't care what the hell it is, its NO, period! And these pisspot little resort towns are all hand wringing concerned about their economy. Bullshit! All they are concerned about is draining their tourists of every nickel and dime they can extract from them, like they do their local taxpayers. Get real!!! Cape May alone has an excess of a 45% unemployment in the off season. Whey not get REAL businesses going, instead of zeroing in on the poor out of state slob that goes to the shore for a "good time". Yah, right!

I live at the Shore and go to the beach only in the morning before the complaining people and beach taggers arrive. Im off the beach by 11:00 I agree 100% with your post. The signs on the beach entrance is insane. All you aloud to do is lie there silently and not say a word or engage in activities. CRAZY!!! No fire pits or BBQ grills like in other states... Nj is backwards
