Montverde mayor passes his first crisis

Nobody said it was easy to be mayor. Troy Bennett was elected in November to run this 1,200-resident community in south Lake County.

This Town is on its way up after the last Mayor did nothing to help keep the area problems solved. Mayor Bennett is the kind of person we need as he is not afraid to face problems. We can now go to the Town Meetings and not have the fighting & yelling without getting anything accomplished. Our Town is back!! Way to go Troy!!!!!

You must be blind if you have not seen what has been happening to this town in the past year & a half. We need someone who is not afraid to take care of the people who are distroying this town with yard trash & etc. Things were not being done & the past Mayor didn't care. Complaints were not answered, just ignored. Town meetings were a joke with nothing being done. No I am not from Mag 1 or 2 and would not want to live there.

This Mayor closed the road from access to the people of the Montverde Mobile Home Subdivision.
HIS NEIGHBORS. i'M SURE HE WILL BE TREATED THE SAME WAY WHEN RE-ELECTION COMES AROUND.

He told the NEWS it was being repaired, then why
has no work been started!!

whoever voted for this guy, the town system is crooked and so is he. He states he owns the town sheriff. He is too old to be in office. He is of his rocker. Bet he won't be voted in again, unless he pays for it like he did illegaly last time....sad people can get away with it.
He didn't make the police force, so he thinks he'll rule and treat citizens like scum.

I am a resident that would like to say your comments are way off but we have experienced him repeatedly and I am saddened to say you are exactly right. He has become a glorified bully and he is hurting lives and families if you do not live according to his rules and vision. Troy Bennett has no compassion and he is not out for the people who actually live here - just those he wants within this community. I think we all know leaders that work to eliminate those that do not fit a specific image. It doesn't work well. I am so sorry he has happened to our town.

It has all been said here and in several other areas on the web, We all want Montverde to be a great place to live! But come on...Troy actually compaires himself to the President of the United States in an interview for a news artical. This man is mentally deranged, making threats to "turn peoples water off" if they don't submit to his demand in 72 hours! making threats to children on the streets, acosting and cusing at people on their own property, the list goes on and on. There is a right way and a wrong way to accomplish the same goals we all want for our town.
The law won't allow this type of person to own a gun, but we elect him mayor of our town. Wake up people. If you have had an encounter with Troy please send us an email explaining the situation to [e-mail] We want to hear your complaints so we can put an end to this maddness Last time I looked at a map Montverde was in AMERICA, lets act like it!

Kay...Do you wake up in a new world every day ? This is AMERICA... Mr. Heathman was there to turn the corruption around that DOLTS LIKE YOU ENCOURAGE ... when he came into office , there was a HOSTILE COUNCIL that was out to manage the Town THEIR way WITH THEIR APPOINTED MAYOR.... THEY were not listening to THE PEOPLE and that is (( WHY )) Mr. Heathman ran for Mayor in the first place !!!... They IMMEDIATELY put a moratorium on spending so that NOTHING COULD GET DONE. THE only reason they approved $350. TO PUT WATER SEAL ON THE PARK DECKS IS BECAUSE THEY KNEW MR. HEATHMAN WOULD SPEND HIS OWN MONEY AND MAKE THEM LOOK LIKE THE A-HOLES THAT THEY ARE ... Mr. Heathman spent three thousand of his own money for and outside Lawyer to protect the Charter from an overthrow ... When the Council insisted that the Public Works Directer and the Town Clerk be certified , Ricky got certified and the Clerk was in the process ... When SATANS SPAWN slithered in to pick up where Heathman left off HE FIRED EVERYBODY and replaced them with a bunch of chicken squeeze ! So before you slober all over yourself for the GLITZ that you think has miraculously befallen you ... understand that PAY DAY is going to bite you in the *** you sappy eyed WITCH

He seems to have an inflated ego that manifests itself into believing his time outside is more important than children playing. I imagine the people in Conn. would love to hear children laughing and playing outside. Who elected him?

Mr. Bennett claims to have a BA from UGA. Has anyone ever verified that? Someone should....just saying.

Not to worry about education claims in Lake County!

Our Tax Collector Bob McKee claimed all kinds of master's degree's
and such and he don't even have a high school diploma.

All you folks from New York know what it takes to get a Regents High School diploma? He claims to have one but it's all whited out and one sided.

Google Robert (Bob) McKee Lake Tax Collector and you can find the documents with his lies and all the different dates of birth he has used on government applications and such.

You can all bet Mr Bennett is in the sack with Bopb McKee and Sheriff Borders or he would not be there in the first place.

Only their friends seem to get "errected."

The culture of corruption that runs Lake County. And it is deeply entrenched in the leadership of Montverde Academy.

All these criminals are in the same sack together!
