Seems that Mr. Dennis has passed his announcing duties off for the Whitwell High School football games.
Honestly I think Mr. Dennis was getting to be a little too old to do the announcing anymore. Personally for me it was getting to the point that it was slightly embarrassing when he would get off topic and start talking about random events during the game. I respect him greatly and he has been a stand up figure in the community but I think it was time for the switch.
The new guy seems to be doing a good job. No complaints from me so far.... I think he actually started last year.

while u may be telling the truth he is a man that will really be missed he has more love for the kids in this world than half there parents do. Really think u should have not opened ur mouth on this topic just saying

Sorry if this has been taken the wrong way. I meant no disrespect to him at all. I have actually known him personally for a long time and think the world of him. I was just laying it out like I saw it. I love the man, but I wasn't a fan of his announcing lately. I heard him announcing some events during the game last week so it seems that they are still letting him stick around which I think is respectable. Maybe I shouldn't have used his first name in my original post, but I didn't intend for this to be taken negatively so I didn't really think anything about it.
I really was attempting to make a comment about being happy with the new announcer and meant nothing negative against Mr. Dennis. Sorry if it was taken that way.

Mr. Brandon is in his mid 80's and I think that it is wonderful that he is still able to participate in any way possible. Most people have no idea what all he has done for the Crossroads and Whitwell communities behind the scenes. Most people have no idea that he was born and raised in Trenton, GA. He moved to Whitwell when he was in his early 20's. He is a true example of "Whitwell Pride!" He truly loves this community and the people in it. I am pleased to say I have know him most of my life. I played softball for him for several years. He is one of the most selfless people I have ever know! I think it is wonderful that our community is showing him the respect he deserves and let's him participate whenever possible to the best of his ability! I hope I am able to do half of the things he does at his age.
