It should be CHP along with Pico Sheriffs. For some reason im going to guess its going to be on Slauson between Pioneer and Millergrove since there are no turn-abouts in this section. Again, this is only my "guess".

It is against the law to keep the location of such search and seizure actions secret, and it is a violation to ambush motorists without signage warning of a check point. Motorists must have the ability to alter their course and avoid the checkpoint.

If you are stopped comply with all lawful orders of the police, but do not answer any questions that might incriminate you, like "have you been drinking?" Do not take a field sobriety test, they are not mandatory. Say nothing if arrested, and demand an attorney before speaking to anyone. If the CHP does not follow the rules, you will probably have any case dismissed, and if you have a good attorney he might seek money damages for you because your rights were violated by police.

These checkpoints are simply pretext for checking driver's licenses and impounding cars. The vehicle code and Constitution strictly forbids stopping you for the sole purpose of examining your license, so they use the sobriety checkpoint to skirt around the law. They will arrest one drunk, and impound about 30 to 50 cars. The police will profit about $ 50,000. for a nights work.

We become a third world country when police are allowed to profit from discharging their duties, and use a ruse to lay and collect taxes not voted on by the people.

My cousen lives in San pedro. Thats where its taking place. He said its becaus of to many mexican drunks on the road. I think this is racial profiling at its worst. Im so mad about this. Il probably go back to mexico. Its just to much anymore. no freedom at all. I think every mexican should protest this. I have already talked with La Raza on this most serious issue. They assured me it was racial profiling and that all mexicans must unite right away to protest this to the american people. Mexicans have special privileges over the american people. drinking and driving is our privileg. We should not be stopped for drunk driving just becaus we are mexican. More power to the mexican flag. VIVA LA RAZA.

The Sobriety Checkpoint would have been more successful if was scheduled last night after the Lakers Game.

50K is pretty good for a night's work. Think of the 50K in taxes I won't have to pay because some one else decided to break the law by driving without insurance, registration, or a license. If you are legal and sober, you have nothing to fear.
