Deputies Arrest 17 in Newberry Drug Roundup

Law enforcement agents within a number of jurisdictions arrested 17 people for drug offenses, and they say there could be more people arrested before the end of the investigation.

How many times do some of these people have to be caught and arrested for the court systems give them more than a slap on the back of the hand and tells them not to do it anymore???

Guess what? It was NOT near a school. It WAS near a park, but that park is not in use. The police force in the city of Newberry is even more corrupt than the people they arrest. In this case, the ones they arrested apparently just wer guilty of not paying tribute to the city cops. You have no idea what Newberry law enforcement is like. The people they arrested just didn't pay enough to the city cops to stay out of jail.

So, when does accountability arrive within the Newberry law enforcement department? There is enough corruption to go around. These people are just unfortunate enough to not be able to make pay-offs. I would like to see the federal marshall involved in an investigation into the members of all Newberry law enforcement. So would many others.

This just goes to show you, laws are not deterrents to crime. What they really are is punishment for the crime.

Today there are 8 times as many people in prison than in 1972. And crime is virtually the same rate as it was in 1972 according to the JRA Institute.

What we really need is to quit wasting money and directly target the primary causes of crime. These efforts which emphasize education, vocational skills and treatment programs to address dependency and mental health issues.

How about back up your accusations with proof, give us the who, what and when, or are you just spouting off at the mouth. Which of these scum buckets are related to you?

Escuse me? Gaston? Oh, you mean the location of the IP I'm on. It's actually AT&T. I live in Newberry, and I have for 57 years, off and on. My parents and grandparents and great grandparents before that. I'm just being realistic. Law enforcement in Newberry is extremely corrupt. Often as not there is law enforcement involvement in any and all of the drug trade. This is very common knowledge, unless you live under a sheltered rock.
Btw, I am quite sure you don't have the certicates on your wall that I do. Neither are you as well traveled, I doubt. I do have close friends within the legal system in Newberry. It's corrupt, here. Take your head out of the sand and look more closely.

I have several close friends withion the legal system in Newberry. It isn't healthy here to make yourself noticed. These cops are corrupt to the core and it isn't unheard of for people to die in that jail. It's happened and they got away with it. Clandestine beratings have also occured. I have no vested interst in any of these drug users, but I'm just saying that there is a whole lot more going on in this than you may realize. The motivation was to stop dealers from creating competeion for the dealers that the cops are receiving protection money from. Money was the motive. Wise up.

Anything we can do to get a Federal investigation of the Newberry County Sheriffs department I am all for. SLED did a "hush hush" investigation and the public still does not know what they did or did not find. Ask any Newberry attorney and they will confirm SLED did or still is investigating.
