Why are the test scores so low?

IMO. The staff has lost all confidence in Mr. Creekmore.

You have to have some teachers that care. There is a few there but most of them don't have a clue how to be a teacher.

Mr Creekmore is worried about his teeth and smile more than providing leadership. Time for a change.

The leadership part starts at Central Office if you don't have a good leader to set an example there, then the others shouldn't be expected to do much. You're right its time for a change, starting with C.O.

Mr Anderson had the middle test scores on top. It didn't take Jason Creekmore long to destroy What Mr Anderson did for our school.

Time for a change, Creekmore has lost his staff.

I don't know what is happening at the schools but way too many kids are behind. It is all grade levels.

If you want to trace the issue back to the root...take your finger and follow the line to No Child Left Behind. It's making sure all the kids are on the same level, alright- about a second grader's. That "God send" of a program is the biggest joke to ever hit the public education system.
There are some teachers that don't care anymore, and there are far more students who are disruptive just won't do anything.

I agree, i guess that they will figure it out after a bunch of kids are sent through school that can't read or write. It is not the childs fault the way things are going. The whole system needs redone.

maybe comparing McCreary county kids to the rest of the country is a bad idea. The average IQ around here is at least 30 points lower than the national average.

I bet ghettos in chicago test higher than here.

People can say what they want to say and yes the scores are low here, but some of the best people are right here in McCreary County.

I agree with your statement about the people, but Creekmore is not a leader.

We need Mr. Taylor to take over before it's to late.

We are all born with only a certain capacity to learn. This is a scientific fact. Children cannot learn beyond their capacity. This ability to learn is most evident in your middle school grades. It would not matter if Einstein himself were principal. You are not able to teach children that are incapable of learning beyond their God given capacity. Pair that with a failing program like No Child Left Behind and you get low test scores. Our best and brightest children are getting left behind because they are sitting there waiting for the children who can't learn to learn and it just isn't going to happen. It's easy for WCE and PKI to have good test scores because just about everyone can learn to a sixth grade level. Jason Creekmore is a good principal and cares about his kids at school. He is there more than he should be and gives his all for his school. To say that Aaron Anderson did a better job is insulting to the whole system. When Anderson was there NCLB had just started and he left before test data was compiled and schools were tiered. Additionally, we are now seeing children that are the product of drug addicted parents hit middle school age and that is a whole big problem in it's self. Everyone who has something critical to express about Jason Creekmore needs to spend some time at the middle school and find out just exactly what he puts up with every day, all day long with your kids.

Nice post Mindy, He don't put up with to
Much he destroyed the middle school. Can't make decision! He staff don't respect him. The kids love because the school has zero rules. Mr Taylor needs to take over.
