More tax dollars so that they can create more businesses and open more jobs. No one seems to think that the tax money will help this county out.

Drug and crime problems are the same as anywhere else. I don't understand how the "no jobs" can be an argument against sales.?. And the welfare problem isn't going to change...well unless some jobs can be brought to the county that pays good and requires little effort. Not saying everyone on welfare are unwilling to get a job, but a lot are just lazy and don't want to work.

Sales tax will help this County, like it or not, a little sales tax is better than nothing. Now, if we could just getting the people at the court house to spend it wisely.

Wilbur, you make an intelligent point. That poor little county (among the poorest in the state AND nation) can certainly use all of the tax dollars it can get for infrastructure and other development. Nothing of any consequence is, or has been going on there for years, if ever. Huge reason I left 7 years ago. But this time, as in other times, as soon as the local option vote issue come up, that faction of good little obedient Talibaptists have to make a religious issue out of it when it is not. They complain about having drunks. Well the truth is you've got them already. As long as you have them, makes perfect sense to get the tax money from them as well. No only tax money will be generated but money from licensing fees from merchants that will need licensing. There will be more possibilities of revenue but those two alone could be substantial. Besides that, just because you enjoy a drink now and again, that does not constitute being a drunk. I don't partake enough to say I do but yea, I like the taste of a Jack and Coke here and there. Prohibition ended in the 20's for the rest of America, McCreary should move into modern times as well. And as for the sin angle, it's only a sin when you overindulge and become drunk, just like gluttony when you over eat. No difference at all. And since the sin angle seems to be what drives the opposition's argument, you good religious fellows, when is the last time you saw a woman that was built like a brick s---house with EVERYTHING in the right place and your mind didn't start having those thoughts? Be careful remember, lying is a sin to.

We all have our own right to vote on what we feel is best.

Beer, Whisky & pills can already be bought under the counter and paid for with foodstamps. And it will only get worse until STATE law enforcement stops them. But I guess you can get by with just about anything around here when you got family & friends in the local system to protect you.
