News Channel 3 has straight talk about the subject of so called good hair. What is it? Why is the term is so controversial and, why are some women willing to go to extreme lengths to get it? These are all questions we explore.

Number 1 it shuld have been called blacks and hair. A lot of black women go way to far puttin other races of womens hair on their heads covering their natural hair. If youu really take a moment sit and look at a black women with the long weave or wig or extention that is styled like white women wear their hair it is really utterly ridiculous. Everyone in existance knows that's not your natural hair or a style of your natural culture no matter how good you think you look. Just like the clown who wears the big red afro wig that of course is not his real hair your doing the same thing wearing something that is not your hair believe me you look like a clown too.

I think long straight or wavy hair is good hair. I even thing kinky hair can be good hair if it is long hair. It's sad that its so difficult to manage really kinky or kinky short hair. Not to say it's bad hair, just unmanagable. But it's even sadder that the black community doesn't profit from the billion dollar industry. Whites and Asians sell the products in our community then take the money to their own.

The "black community" definitly benefits in every way from WHOEVER the owners or sellers of the products might be. I am in Memphis also and Ampro that was on tv last night does a ton of stuff for their community for the stylists, charities, schools, and a lot of the shows that are in and out of town. I'm a stylist in Memphis for many years and I've seen and heard of the really great things they do. So just because you see a white person or asian selling some product dont jump to the conclusion that they are just taking your money!! You and others are getting a lot more out of it than you might think.

I hate that Chris Rock has made this such a huge issue. I'm a Black woman with long hair that I inherited from both sides of my family. My 66 year old mother and 88 year old grandmother both have a head full of hair (their own). I get women all the time staring at my hair to see if its weave. Not all Black women with long hair have to sport weave. I just happen to be blessed with long hair genetically. Get over it people. It's not that serious!

A woman, any woman should be comfortable enough within herself to wear her hair as naturally as she was born with, no matter what length or texture. Real beauty comes from within. I don't care how much straightener you use, if you have a bad attitude, "ugly" will surely reveal itself. I think this whole issue of what is regarded as "good or bad hair" is ridiculous.
