I guess the police have their hands full trying to handle all of the drug dealers and drug users. Morristown is full of them. Even more than Bean Station, and that place is like one giant trailer park. I understand that just their being here is illegal, but if they aren't doing anything beyond that, then go for the people that are doing worse crimes. It isn't a perfect system, but it's the only one we have at this point.

1. We cite, fill out paperwork etc., they don't show up for court.

2. Where do we put them?

3. Federal govt will not enforce laws, what are we supposed to do with them, bring them to your house?

4. So yes, priorities.

no the local police can't enforce deportation laws. And before the bash the police it's not their fault. It's the government and the president all those stupid people voted for. And before u bash me about that just think. Before long they will be legal anyway if Obama gets his way

The MPD may say they do all they can but that is far from the truth. I can understand that just being illegal is not enough but I was involved in a situation where my car was hit in a parking lot by an illegal who was obviously intoxicated. The officer stated that it was a waste to time charging him with a crime because he had no social security number and would just bond out and disappear. Mind you he had no ID, drivers license, insurance, registration and was DRUNK! The officer took a report, told me to file it under my insurance and allowed him to return to the place he was drinking at. I was shocked and at that point lost all respect for the MPD!

Exactly! My husband was so angry and about to go off. I told him not to say anything cause as soon as he does he would be arrested cause he does have a social security number!
