They are low paying. Their trucks are falling apart and they risk their drivers lives every day in those things. They don't give raises and they charge every driver at the end of the year to drive one of those stinking trucks. Usually ends up being over 1/2 a payday too!

Not as if anyone here would be educated enough to know, but no matter where you work, if you drive a companies vehicle in the United States, the IRS takes a cut out of your check, not the company. So tough luck all you idiots that don't have a job to know any better, otherwise you would have known this.

So then I guess that if something happens then you can be held accountable for withholding information? Have you contacted the authorities since you know it all?
Nope

The company actually charges the men to drive the trucks. Usually around $300 a year and they take it out of their already LOW pay at Christmas time, I know several of the workers who brought home less than $250 for 2 weeks of work after this. I also know there are some quitting after the first of the year! I know one man who has worked there for almost 10 years and only makes $8 per hour. Others only make around $7 per hour. I would not recommend working there.

Since you can't seem to take the time to read I'll state it again,
no matter where you work, if you drive a companies vehicle in the United States, the IRS takes a cut out of your check, not the company.

This is common knowledge in the United States. My company does the same thing, no ways around it. To the ones that you say will be leaving, congratulations to them for trying to better themselves. As a business owner, I encourage such moves, and I wonder why workers still "settle" for a low paying job and then complain about it. No one is making them accept a job that they know what thier duty is and the pay rate before they sign the dotted line!

I can hear it now, "They ain't nery jobs round hyer!"... whatever, all excuses!
Sorry

But I have to comment on this one as all of what you are saying is correct, I give credit where credit is due. I don't work there but I do personally know some of the workers there - noted I said some not all - and yes a couple of them are extremely open w/their drug usage and abuse and I find it very sad. They really should drug test, it would be in their best interests in this day and time.

Doesn't their employees all have to have a miners card?

I think now by law, you have to pass a drug test before you can even take the miners card exam.

Also, I thought they did start random drug testing a while back, what I heard anyways. Did anyone get fired?

i work for standard and yes they are a low paying company but add in as a driver you take the company truck home,( and this is considered taxable income by the irs...so yes we pay at the end of the year and no the company is not the one charging us)we pay no gas bill, we pay no maintance bills, we are allowed all the overtime nessecary for or jobs, and that makes our wages alittle more appealing....who cares if your check is $800 a payday and it takes a $200 for your gas how much did you bring home genius?

as far a drug testing we are randomly checked and yes you do take a pre employment and a pre exam test as well...like any company we do our best to keep a descent crew...so i hope this settles a few misconception about standard labs...
