Well, first Michael, The Straight Talk phones and cards are not on Verizon at all. They are on the Tracfone Service and towers. If you go to Walmarts website and pull up electronics, then click on the prepaid cellphones, scroll down to the Straight Talk cards on there. Click on that to find out more about the product, then when it pulls it up, it will give you the option to view the product. It will have only two pictures of the Straight Talk phone card. Then flip it over to see the backside of the card, then zoom in as much as you can. The fine print at the bottom will show you it is a product and service of Tracfone.I should of said it like this. ok.. I have Straight Talk and if I call someone that uses Verizon will it take away the mins from the persons cell I'm calling?
I know this because I too have checked into them in very much detail.
Appalachian Wireless around here, has a local monopoly for some time still, and they don't work well, and actually aren't even on the shelves for sale in the Walmarts in Whitesburg, Hazard, Jackson yet because of that local legal monopoly.
But to answer you question about the other users minutes, if theirs is a prepaid phone, no matter what the company or provider, then yes, it will use their minutes for as long as they are on the line. It makes no difference whether or not the call is incoming or outgoing. If they are on their phone, it uses their minutes.
Hope that helps!
