LMAO....What a joke. When water lines are constructed to a park (Fish Pond) instead of peoples houses, I think something is wrong. We need to remember these idiots and liars on election day..

I understand that people are upset that they don't have water yet but the waterline projects are still going. They may not be covering the whole county at once but they are moving and have been for several years. I can not think of a time when there hasn't been new waterlines installed somewhere in the county for the last several years. I believe they are working to get it to everyone and I hope they do.

The rec center was not a waste, I have seen many many kids having fun there. Things like the rec center gives kids things to do in a town that has nothing for them. Itf it keeps only one kid away from drugs then every dime spent on it was well spent. Stop thinking of only yourself you are not the only person who lives in this county.

I love the fact that there is finally something for the people of this county to enjoy, but I'm almost 100% sure that the people living without water needed that $ to go to installing water for their homes. Priority #1 SHOULD have been to get citizens basic needs, such as running water. The rec center could have waited.

Kids and their future come first, should not even be an arguement.

I agree. Kids do come first. They should be able to bathe and were clean clothes first before they're able to bowl or climb a fake rock wall, don't cha think?

The rec center hadn't hindered the installation of water lines.....kids with productive things to do is very important and is helping with the quality of life in letcher county in my opinion

I think the argument is that the $ spent on the rec center could have been better used to install water lines for the people of the county who are going without.

I think that is a terrible argument...water is already going n and we badly needed something for the kids to try and do something about our drug problem here

Thank you, we have been trying to getting someone to listen to us for ten years. Stumbling on the fact that the money was funded from a Coal Development Fund and was specifically sent to Letcher County for outlying areas, in this case Deane. The funds were then used for Sand Lick where our County Judge and others happen to live. Jim Ward did mention in a fiscal court meeting in October that he received water in 2007. The funds were sent to Letcher County in 2006. The records in Frankfort say every bit of the 2 million dollars was spent on Sand Lick. Regulations say they had to go back to the General Assembly to get approval to move the funds. They did not.

When those kids grow up and have to drink poison water they too will get sick, have children with birth defects and then they die just like the folks that have been drinking that dirty water have been doing for years now. What were you thinking when you said the kids come first. The Yonts kids matter too. Both are under 10 and have had stomach issues and seizures. That is a fact. What were you thinking?
