We the citizens of Frankfort Indiana would like to take time to thank those responsible for hiring Dr. Kevin Caress, our former school superintendent for your new school superintendent.
After years of our school system failing we are now able to look forward to the future to get our kids the proper education that they deserve. You should have done a thorough investigation on him before giving him the position of superintendent. Those of you who have children in the Clark-Pleasant school system better take notice of this warning. This man will do whatever he feels like doing and the public will have no say. He wants it done his way and his way only. Just go to the Indiana Dept. of Education website (the info and graphs don't lie) and look at the stats for Frankfort Schools and you will notice how we have been on a constant spiral downwards since he has been superintendent. He will make sure to control how your school board votes, in his favor. Also, if you are a veteran teacher in these schools you better start looking for another career. Don't take my word for it, just heed the warning.
How can a superintendent of a failing school system get "Superintendent of the Year"??

The following is an Editorial printed in the Frankfort Times on August 8th, 2009

A miss goes out to the Frankfort School Board and Dr. Caress for doing more damage to a school district in one term than this town has ever seen.

Spending more money than ever on redesigning buildings to be built that were not needed and destroyed local landmarks in the process. Don’t forget those fields that were built that are not needed. How about fixing the current structures? How does it look when someone visits and you cannot even read the words “Case Arena” because letters are missing?

How about concentrating on things like the high school air conditioning? Thanks for getting rid of experienced teachers to hire less experienced, first year, fresh-out-of-college teachers to replace them so that you save a few thousand dollars per year.

That’s looking out for the quality of education that our youth are receiving. Way to spend money smartly. Build fields and buildings that could have waited – instead you fire nine teachers and increase the average class size in our already over-populated schools.

That is what we needed – more students per teacher. Then to finish off the stab in the back, you deny their unemployment claims.

Congratulations on your mismanagement skills. Maybe you will learn that the superintendent works for you this time around, instead of allowing him to run your every meeting and make every decision for you.

Here is to looking forward to the next school board elections.
