Is every kid that fights like this going to face trial? Some of the "urban" high schools alone would do nothing all day but cart these kids off to jail.

There was conflict between these boys for a long time. It is too bad it escalated to this. The Michigan public school system I taught in had a bullying policy that provided ways for problems like this to be addressed early on. There were different levels of bullying and all reported incidents were documented. We provided ways for kids to report what was going on without being teased and at times the police got involved. It didn't prevent all problems, but it alleviated a lot of it and it worked very well.

Little brat. Maybe a little time in lock-up will straighten him out.

Seems the youth of today has no problem with causing great bodily harm to anyone. Even the girls get into fights and the parents even show up and get involved.

Schools can only do so much and at times seem to turn away from this type of activity.

Teachers in some districts are scared for their lives, or afraid of be reprimanded when they try to straighten out a situation.

Parents seem to think that their children should not be taught a lesson or have any sort of punishment issued.

This boy will learn the hard way, maybe while he is in prison he will have anger management classes.

The bullying policy is not what you think it is. It fails most of the time, and the teachers do not enforce it. And even if it were enforced in this school, it would not have covered anything that was happening out of school and online.

Schools can't possibly be everywhere all the time. Parents don't teach their children (in most cases) to grow up to be responsible adults. At some point you have to stop blaming the parents, society, video games etc. etc. and make the kids responsible for their own actions.

Stop feeling sorry for kids who break the rules, and punish them according to law.
