I would first like to thank the Mierendorf Family for allowing so many lucky people over the years to explore this beautiful piece of land. I would then to plea with the Mierendorf Family to think of future generations when deciding who they will sell this property to. It's irreplaceable! We've lost too much of the beautful dunes that West Michigan was blessed with. If this property is lost to developers, it would be pure tragedy. We must act responsibly and keep this land protected!

Maybe Governor Granholm has a bright idea about this. She should definatly be consulted. Maybe she could tax the public in order to help out this state park and then.......move the lake and the dunes to Mexico. Sorry - must be UMS -(ugly mood swing) feeling a bit cynical tonight. Just can't make ends meet and keep them tied lately. Like everyone else in Michigan - surprised?

I understand completely. It's tough seeing anyone asking for donations, contributions right now when so many cannot even pay their own bills and are trying to. I applaud those who are working two jobs and cutting costs but not going on state aid programs. It's people with pride that will keep us afloat in Michigan, and it's about time that our lousy Governor recognized that.

I'd love to see this expansion, but at the end of the day, this family will sell to those who have a check ready.
