Obviously you're doing a great job of educating our children. Thank you for spending your salary time (a.k.a. our tax dollars) on a news forum!

The public opinion for teachers is probably the lowest I remember as a result of the GRPS picketing and you make a post while you are working. Are you truly that oblivious to the political/educational/economic al environment that you are in right now? How can the people who are "building our future" be so out of touch with the present? Hopefully you (or an acute administrator) will re-assess your job requirements while you are at work.

WELCOME TO MICHIGAN ... Although I realize not all may have the option - consider MOVING! Complaints about the economy, complaints about the "lack of school closure", what else can you complain about? Perhaps your time would be better spent seeking gainful employment!

The "job" is just down the street. No need to look very far! The problem is a job is exactly that a "job" not a career - simply employment. Not everyone can make 15 - 20 - 25 - 30 dollars and up and hour. This is the problem - people would rather complain and sit home collecting unemployment than accept a so called "job beneath them" ... Last I checked people were still eating plenty of McDonalds!

If my dang house would sell I would!
Putting my child at risk because of OTHER drivers isn't worth their life. It's a day of school, so what if they miss it.
I agree if my house would sell i would be right behind yeah,I would be in Florida with my son and family ,out of here so fast,I would leave the buyers all my stuff! dogs too, no not the dogs haha

If your not willing to work in the medical field, service sector, or tourism you better start looking outside Michigan, because everything else is dying.

You folks apparently missed the "lab" part of his statement. A "lab" is usually not a class that is taught, but rather one in which the students may explore the subject matter at their own pace.
Sorry you had to go in, booo. I kept my son home, I'm not driving in all this swear!

AMEN to that!! Get out and get a JOB, stop mooching off the government. The careers are few and far between now, and that is something we all have to adapt to.

A distinct advantage of being a teacher in the same school system that your children are in.

So the teacher has no duty to make sure the students in the lab are on task? Or no duty to make sure that students are not on inappropriate web sites? Or no duty to monitor other behaviors that may be considered objectionable? I guess the duties of a teacher stop at lecture! And then people like you back them up even when they aren't doing what they should be doing! This teacher is in the building with students sitting in front of him. I don't care if it is a "lab" or not. Our children are in his care and he should NOT be surfing the net!!!

When did Michiganders become so soft? It's winter! It snows! Deal with it. Learn to drive in it, it's not that hard if you take your time. Make your kid's ride the bus or, heaven forbid, WALK to school. It's not that cold even.
