If Jim Justice doesn't know to get back to the way things used to be he will NEVER get the star back. I have been in business long enough to know you cannot cut corners and work your help to death on double shifts and not have the supplys to work with to do your job correct then the Greenbrier will continue to go downhill. The first mistake was all those houses in the middle of a golf course and the second was the gambling. It used to be a family place to come to and now it is not so wake up and smell the coffee before it is to late!

It is time that JJ and all of us spoke up and told the truth that the blame for losing a diamond and not getting a 5 star is the fault of the leader of the hotel which is in the president. It's about time the president took responsibility for his inability to get things done. Maybe if the example he leads us by was to motivate, encourage, stick up for us and build morale the hotel would have a chance but the example he leads us by is to backstab, throw people under the bus, lie and get rid of anyone who is smarter than him which is just about anyone. On my shifts I hear most of the sporting club members call him a joke and that they do not like him. They say that the leader is the one who is finally responsible for everything and I guess most of them should know but in his e-mail today he blames everyone else again.

He told the newspaper that the reason we lost the 5 diamond was that the bathrooms were not 5 diamond standard then in his e-mail today he writes a list as long as his arm that we lost the diamond because of a lot of failures in service areas and he listed all of them and did not mention the bathrooms.

JJ gives us turkeys, tickets, benefits and everything but then he wants us to work for someone that cant do his job and then blames us and everyone else for his own bad work. Why does JJ think that any of us would go one extra inch for the president. It is time he got fired so that JJ can achieve what he set out to do.

The good lord has sent enough messages and this is another one. The president has failed JJ, the hotel and everything.

To correction. Jim didn't put the houses there but he did put the gambling there. Years ago they should not have started all those houses and left the hotel like it was. Now as for cutting corners in supplys and working the help till they are so tired they can hardly walk they most certainly do so changes in how they do things are in order or it is obivious the star is gone forever.

Old School. The people of Greenbrier County brought the casino to the resort. We voted on it the first time. Voted it down. Second time the union brought it up at negotiations. Before Jim bought the hotel. We the people of Greenbrier county brought the Casino to the hotel. In an effort to bring it up to modern standards and make it more compatible with other resorts.

It is hard enough in today's world deliver to peoples expectations... And when You have a President that does not have any concerns other than to point out where everyone else falls short, it really stinks! I feel for "most" of the current employees, because "most" of them are good people & have good work ethics!

Thank You Mr.Justice for all You do for the community & employees of The Greenbrier - In my opinion would be that if You could find a leader that shared some of Your same values & not just acted like He did... You could get things turned around. Best of luck...

I couldn't have said this better myself! Yes some of the employees have a bad attitude, but again that falls to lack of leadership. We are the bricks of the foundation but our leaders are the mortar that should hold us together. Perfect example is the casino that consistently scores well on the Forbes shop reports and I am not talking out the beverage service they do not fall under casino management which is the best in the hotel! I used to have such a sense of pride walking into work everday but not anymore and it truly breaks my heart. Mr. J I have faith in you but you have to pull away the wool that is covering your eyes and get some true leaders in the hotel to bring it back up to standards and please spend money on training if you want the 5th star!

Thank you for all the kind words about the casino. I am a table games dealer and couldn't ask for more better, caring, and positive management to fall under. We all hold our heads up strong and link our arms together to form our team. I believe that every department too can be as lucky as we are...but you are correct ... it takes great leaders to form a great team!

I'm not sure what you are reading however the AAA list included standard bedrooms and bathrooms as being to small. As for who is to blame for this failure; stop trying to point the finger at anyone other than ourselves. We lost the 5th star 13 years ago: is that JJ and Kimiec's fault too? Did you have a problem with the previous owner and presidents? When is the last time you went an extra inch? This is our fault; time to man up.

You are absolutely correct, its the president and then go down at least one more step, and let the one overseeing the Hskpg, Motor Services, and all of the rest of the property, kick him out and get someone who really knows and respects the people, and then the 5th star may come again, until then "no way"

You can man up, but its not our fault, yes the star was lost years ago and no it wasn't JJ, however since his buying the property who has it been that has been running the place in the ground? The top 2 men don't have a freaking clue on getting it back, nor will they, because the people have no respect for someone that doesn't give respect. Its a 2 way street
